Heathens V Kings Lynn

kings_lynn_young_stars.jpgHEATHENS V KING'S LYNN - TUESDAY PREVIEWMONDAY SEPTEMBER 05, 2011ADAM Allott, who was a thorn in Dudley’s side last week, has been named in their team for Tuesday’s National League clash with King’s Lynn at Monmore (7.30).

Allott scored a 15-point maximum against the Heathens when riding for Buxton last week and has agreed to stand in for the injured Kyle Newman.

Newman crashed on his return to the club as cover for the injured Jon Armstrong at the Isle of Wight last Thursday and is still in some discomfort although he didn’t suffer any broken bones.

It’s a meeting Heathens are desperate to win after a nightmare run of injuries which have wrecked their play-off charge.

Said boss Will Pottinger: “Kyle wanted to race but he needs a few more days rest and we thank Adam for coming in and helping us out.

“And it goes without saying we hope he can do as well for us as he did against us last week! He’s a real trapper.

“And we’re changing the riding order to move Ashley Morris to number five with Jamie Courtney at four to see if that changes things.

“It’s a big meeting for us, as our last league meeting of the season we are desperate to win it!”

HEATHENS: Adam Allott, Richard Franklin R/R, Tom Perry, Jamie Courtney, Ashley Morris, Darryl Ritchings, Danny Stoneman.

KING’S LYNN: Lewis Blackbird, Jake Knight R/R, Lewis Kerr, Oliver Rayson, James Cockle, Tom Stokes, Scott Campos.

Tuesday morning update.

dudley_logo.jpgRACEDAY UPDATETUESDAY SEPTEMBER 06, 2011DUDLEY Heathens are determined to beat the weather as well as King’s Lynn tonight!

The former Cradley club face the Young Stars in their final league outing of the season at their adopted Monmore Green home in Wolverhampton.

And work is underway on the track after overnight rain following last night’s Elite League clash between Wolves and Birmingham.

Heathens chairman Nigel Pearson said: “Work has started on pulling the track back after last night and we are doing everything we can to get tonight’s meeting on.

“We’re hopeful we will get a mainly dry afternoon and we can go racing. After recent results the boys are desperate to get back on track and try and get a win in the final home league meeting.”

Buxton’s Adam Allott, who scored a maximum against the Heathens last week, is booked as a guest for the injured Kyle Newman in the Dudley side.

Hopefully the Young Stars can give a good account of themselves, will be particularly interested to see how Lewi Kerr scores tonight as he has really started to blossom recently. I'd suggest that but for his couple injuries this year he'd be getting one or two PL rides by now, not bad for someone who only had his first rides on a speedway bike a little over a year ago.

Totally agree with you! Lewis didn't have much luck at the start of the season with injuries and engine troubles but seems to be getting there now. He scored some good points of late and hope he can continue it and get some PL rides next season. Hope for a good meeting tonight. Good luck to both teams

We've had no rain worth mentioning since getting to work this morning, though there's the chance of copping a passing shower on days like this. The strong wind and reasonable temperature have combined to dry things out quite nicely. As per the update posted above it sounds as though the guys are going to spend the day on the track so I anticipate we'll have a nice grippy track for tonight which should promote plenty of passing (hope I haven't jinxed it).

I'm not expecting anything in terms of the result. Frankly whatever happens happens (another 'ommering would at least reduce the averages further so at least we could take something from the second half of the season :P). I'd like to see a season's best by Tom, for Darryl to bounce back from a difficult spell and Danny to get in the points because the lad works hard for little reward. What I really want tonight is a night of good racing and everyone going home in one piece under their own steam.
