Ipswich Jules
Well done Kevin Long. A superbly written and presented tribute to John Berry tonight. I wonder if we will be able to read it anywhere? I'd love to. I was unable to make it tonight as I've only just got in from work

Presenter
Well done Kevin Long. A superbly written and presented tribute to John Berry tonight. Thank you. It was not a written tribute so cannot reproduce it anywhere for you. i just said what I felt was appropriate and paid tribute to a man who we all at Ipswich, have everything to remember him for.
cyclone
It was captured on Rerun Productions Not sure when you'll be able to buy it at Foxhall, because there's no fixture scheduled Ediunburgh should be forced to visit - it's the height of the season and they've still got to PL as well as KOC-Up match. Apparently they've got riders on holiday?!!! If you care to check, Monarchs already agreed to reschedule the original earlier date for a visit to Ipswich, to accommodate your Promotion. Were no other Promotions approached, or have they refused also ? As Monarchs have a twelve day gap between fixtures, is it unreasonable for the riders to take advantage for a brief holiday break, given they only get paid when they ride ? Suggest you consider the full background before posting the likes of above. BTW the only issue that requires to be "forced" is some compulsory education for yourself to correctly spell the name of the Capital of Scotland
tone deaf
Do we really have to wait until 6th September for a home meeting? Absolutely crazy. A summer sport with no fixtures in the month most likely to get decent crowds? Nothing surprises me when it comes to speedway!
KEITH M
along with KEITH M (why the need to shout his name) Because when I joined the forum over 8 years ago there was already a poole fan registered with the name keith m and it wouldn't let me use same name... But it did let me use KEITH M( its not a insecure thing as Mr S would have you all believe)..... By the way have you noticed HIS last bullying posts against me have now been removed:-)

This is not a dig at the Monarchs in isolation but more of a general observation.

There's no 12 day gap next week, why cant they come to Foxhall next thursday? Then comfortably get back for Matts meeting on the Friday. They should be FORCED to ride us next week!!! Pere Ubon
It's sadly all too typical of speedway in this country. The BSPA contract should be amended so that riders are committed to race as required between March and October. My brother works in the holiday industry, and takes his vacation once the season is over.

I just assumed if you've only got a 7 month window to earn money, you wouldn't be out of the country when you could be missing guest bookings etc. Seems strange to me, obviously Premier league riders are a lot wealthier that i thought. dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
The thing is that these dates are not just blank weeks - they are designated as reserved dates for rain offs and cup rounds. Taking Edinburgh as an example presumably they have given permission to riders to arrange these holidays (??) If so why given they knew if they progressed in the cup they could be up against a team where the reserved date was for that week!!
2ndbendbeerhut
Riders moan that they are unable to earn money due to postponements then they go on holidays when the postponements/reserved fixtures are due to take place. I can understand booking a late deal when there are no fixtures (Tungate for example) but to plan a holiday in the season is crazy! Never know it might bite the Edinburgh riders on the bum if they fail to qualify for the play offs due to not riding in enough fixtures..... spanner47
I didn't ask for anything, I just made a statement. As far as I'm concerned, KEITH M and MicktheMuppet make virtually no tangible contribution to Ipswich threads - they just seem happy to throw in the occaisional snipe or whinge - and then get upset themselves if someone dares answer back. You are welcome to lodge a complaint about me calling it Aljerk - but it doesn't care what it's called because it doesn't take the blindest bit of notice of whatever anyone else says. It hasn't got the gumption to do anything about the chips it carries on its shoulder and deserves to be treated with the utmost contempt for the pathetic barrage of guff posted on here. If i get a ban from here as a result of me calling it the Aljerk, then the moderation of this forum will show itself to be as poorly inconsistent as the BSPA & SCB. Moderation on this forum?? We were told when the forum came back that trolls would be banned, there's no sign of that happening. I only go on one other forum (not speedway related), but a troll like aljerk wouldn't last five minutes, they have moderation, and dont suffer idiots ruining the forum for other users. seanmuffe
With regards to refusing to come because of "availability" you cant tell me that Ipswich say yes to everything they are offered and have never pulled the "we are not coming then".routine. Its a joke no fixtures in August along with most things( also dont think you have to dig too deep to find tracks having weeks off because a number of teams refusing to come). Its a glasshouse senario our boys never lay down to get races stopped yeah right!!! Our promoter is wonderful he wouldnt do that thats another classic. Sadly none of them (powers that be) realise most of us are on to them but even these numbers are declining as each week someone says enoughs enough, crowds dwindle its the recession, sport on tv, the frigging x factor all contribute to the demise of the sport. But the continued bloody rule changes/structures etc etc and the general its their fault not ours mentality is driving even more away. Act before its too late--- all tracks need each other even if you hate your neighbours so work together united you stand divided you fall. Travertine
................................ Never know it might bite the Edinburgh riders on the bum if they fail to qualify for the play offs due to not riding in enough fixtures ..... Not sure when the cut-off is, mid-september I believe - Edinburgh would get no sympathy if they requested an extension, having turned down opportunities to fulfil fixtures, especially when they have only raced half of their matches (as of today, 10th August). It only needs another spell of wet weather (not unknown in this country) and they might find themselves in a bit of a pickle.
aljack
Just sums up the professional and dedication that some PL riders have if that is the case . Well my sentiments exactly, thats why I much prefer the elite league at least the riders are professionals and you get prefessionalism for your £15.50 + £2.50 = £18 entrance and programme fees!!! And not a load of amateurs who go on holiday whenever the whim grabs them.
