Ipswich Jules
That is one hell of a document. It's a wonder the stadium can operate at all with the "You can do this but not that" attitude It was ok to watch as long as you didn't leave the home straight stand and go round the terracing onto the first and second bends and beyond as I remember. But not everyone does as they are asked do they? and one of those that broke those rules was a former Witches rider!
Lovey
Good news in the Speedway Star, which I hadn't picked-up on before, is that Mat Tresarrieu will indeed be giving the World Longtrack series a miss this year. As a compromise with the French authorities, he has accepted their request that he competes in the 2012 European speedway championships. Not sure what impact that will have on the Sackers Witches - I'm sure Mr Snackette will be cross-checkign the fixture lists .

Mr Snackette
The situation regarding GBEs and Tier 5 Visas has taken an interesting turn. Kenny Ingalls, one of the riders rumoured to be having Visa issues, now appears to be missing the "start" of the season. Taken from the Workington Times & Star: http://www.timesandstar.co.uk/sport/comets/workington-comets-star-could-miss-season-start-after-visa-blunder-1.932707?referrerPath=sport/comets This is now beginning to look a little ominous. I now feel it's becoming more and more likely that Ipswich are going to be forced to make a change. Although I really do hope that I am proved wrong. It's a real pity that there has been no official announcement from the BSPA. Correction: Ipswich averages have now been added to the BSPA's website, so it looks like everything is now OK. Only Glasgow, Plymouth and Workington left now. Link: http://www.speedwaygb.co/plteams12.html

Icicle
Phew for Ippo & Edin! Now Worky--Ingalls/ Glasgow- O'Malley (Compton?) & Plymouth (poss all of them!) to be sorted &, I hope, very soon!
Mr Snackette
One has to ask, just how reliable is the BSPA website? The Rye House and Tyson situation is particularly interesting. On the BSPA site Tyson was shown with an average of 5.33 and all the rest of the Rockets had averages attached. According to the BSPA website: "Teams with rider averages against them have been declared and officially approved by the BSPA". It now transpires that Tyson's paperwork hadn't been approved, and his place on the BSPA's website line up is taken by Leigh Lanham. It doesn't provide a great deal of confidence, does it???!!!! Icicle
As Lanham is an improvement on Nelson, one wonders if Len, once he noted that he was avaliable "accidently" mucked up Nelson's paperwork?

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Good to see the team officially ratified. Many are saying that on paper we are one of the strongest teams which of course is wrong....on paper we are one of the weakest given that we have failed to use 1.35 of the points limit. Only Redcar have used less I believe.

There's a lot of pressure on Doolan to find the level of scoring he should be capable of. Without double-checking, I'm sure the Sackers Witches have got the lowest average #1 in the PL - three of the Rockets riders (inc. Lanham) have a higher (rolling) Green Sheet than any Witch! This is a perfectly reasonable expectation for our team although by no means a foregone conclusion. By the end of the year I believe we will have a 'real' No1......its just a case of who it will be!!!
Baldyman
Was it press and practice today?
tomcat
It was supposed to be P&P today Baldyman, but didn't hear any bikes from here(just 10 minutes away from the Stadium), so not sure if it did go ahead. Can't see why it shouldn't have, but who knows these days. Just got my fingers crossed for a dry, warm and pleasant evening on Thursday, as I can't wait to see some live racing again after all these years. Come say hi if you want to, as I will be there, along with my lady wife and my son. We'll be sitting somewhere around the 1st benad area, on two patio chairs, which are akin to the film directors style, wooden frames and canvas seats and backs, and my Mrs will be sat in the middle in her fold away canvas chair, which has the cup holders in the arms.... oh, and I'll no doubt have my rather sad looking Wulf sport Witches coat on, ala 1998, which has a tear in the left forearm... just so ya recognise us... In fact, if anyone wants to come and say Hi... feel free, we don't bite...honestly! Edited to add: My real names Jerry, wife is Dee and son is JJ, so no-one has to go around asking if the name's Tomcat... CardinalSin
Pete Simmons posted a pic on twitter of the lads warming up the bikes in the pits so definitely practice today. Lets hope they got a fair few laps under their belts.
