Ipswich 2012

Recommended Posts

Less than a week yet BSPA have still not got up the official averages for Witches (& others)....!

Whilst the delay, and the lack of official information about the delay, is frustrating, the first official PL fixture is still 16 days away.

One hopes that some of the rumours doing the rounds come to nothing, because if true we may all be a little disappointed.

Does this mean there could be a problem with Tungate's visa or is it around British partiality for Heeps?? If either is the case then a number of teams will surely also be similarly affected. If so chaos will ensue!!

Sounds a bit ominous!

Heeps on a 3.00 and Tungate on 5.00 are clearly bargains.....

Bargains or not it should make no difference. They are either legitimate or not that is all that matters!

If its only a rumour, tell us all.

As it is only a rumour, which hasn't been confirmed by any of my usual sources, it would be unfair to put this in the public domain, in any detail. However in outline, the rumour is that the BSPA are looking at the GBEs for four riders. In addition they are examining the proposed assessed average of a fifth. This followed pressure from the SRA.

I must stress this a rumour from an unconfirmed source, and I have been unable to get any confirmation as to it's veracity.

Sorry to appear thick...(well I suppose I am really) but what is a GBE?

I was being flippant. These signings haven't been popular in certain quarters.

Didnt mean to seem like I was having a go.I sensed your meaning.Just using your quote as a base for my own comment.

If there is basis to the rumour my biggest surprise would be that it only involves 5 riders! If Tungate is one of the four and doesnt qualify then there are in the region of ten riders that shouldnt qualify including some that have already been declared/ratified.

I wonder if they'll get away with this being so so late in the day, if true, because there are plenty of replacements waiting for team spots and available.

And also the fact that a good number of those without jobs are British?

If this is the reason then any team with a rider requiring a work permit should not have been ratified.Perhaps there is still time for all the averages to be removed again!?!

Governing Body Endorsement.

This is required to get a Tier 5 Visa.

There are a number of threads where this has been discussed in more detail, so if you would like more information try the following:

Sorry, that really doesn't make any sense. We know that certain riders already have had their Tier 5 Visas approved, clearly meeting the BSPA's GBE requirement. What of course we don't know is what the BSPA's GBE requirements are, as they have not been published.

The BSPA website is quite clear, stating in refreshing unequivocal terms the following:

"Teams with rider averages against them have been declared and officially approved by the BSPA. Others will be added when they have also been declared and officially accepted by the BSPA".

I was responding to Steve Irvings post about British riders being out of work and his inference that this is the reason for the delay. I personally dont think this has anything to do with the current delay. The fact that teams have been ratified and the unequivocal BSPA statement backs this up.

This of course seems to point to Heeps being the issue.Given Tungates Aussie Championship performance it would be unthinkable for him not to obtain an endorsement where others already have.
