semion
Pre-season favourites and ending up 3rd, is hardly anything to shout about. Now being predicted to finish in the bottom 2, and ending up 3rd is really something to shout about... As for winning a 4 team tournmount where the rules allow you to use your number 1 as a reserve, well done, it must make you so proud. Mr Snackette
Looks a very good line-up. Will last seasons big under achievers acutally come good this year ? Premier League Champs 2012. Back in the Elite League 2013. It would be awful to see Ippo choke 2 seasons on ther spin Interesting concept of "big under achievers"..... Finishing third in the League, and 4TT Champions. If that's the case let's hope they under achieve and choke again!!!!!!

True, last season Ipswich were made pre season favourites, but only by the ignorant and ill informed.......perhaps a little like yourself???!!! Most Ipswich fans targeted a top three finish plus perhaps a trophy. Job done. Of course there will be those, in the wake of last year's success, who will be expecting even better. Let's hope they are right, but if we achieve the same level of success as last season, then I for one will be very happy indeed. Mind you I'd be even happier if we see a team providing exciting, exhilarating, and entertaining racing, irrespective of any league or trophy success!! Finishing third with no silverware is really something to shout about!!! Yes your probably right, as I think the 4TT Trophy is silver plate as opposed to solid silver. But in speedway I think most would regard that as silverware......but clearly you set much higher standards!!!! semion
Ignorant ? How does making a strong team ( 2011) like Ipswich make me that ? I think the pundits in the Star also made them favourites. I would suggest you try a mirror my freind. Once Ipswich have acheived what Kings Lynn did in their short stay in the Premier League, then maybe that is the time to start patting ones self on the back for ending up 3rd in the 2nd tier of British Speedway and winning some trophy involving 3 other teams. Big deal. I thought I read that the Ipswich crowds had shown no improvment in numbers between 2010 and 2011. As people were saying how badly they had dropped off in 2010, I guess the Ipswich public were somewhat disappointed as well in 2011. Would you not agree ? Taylorj
Was expecting to see Nick Morris in Ipswich Line-up for next season..... Could he be the missing link in Somersets team now then a very strong team Somerset will be if this is so!!!

Lets keep things on a friendly basis as we are all speedway fans and want the best for our teams. Witches did underachieve last season I would be the first to admit that but there was mitigating circumstances. A serious injury to Morten Risager when just starting to find his form and no replacement was made was an obvious one. Then Chris Schramm was injured badly and by the time he was replaced the season was dead for the Witches. Winning the 4s was obviously just a minor event and not making much of that. But if staying clear of injuries next season who knows what might be achieved by this very young exciting Witches team.
semion
Its always good friendly banter... One of the main reasons for the under acheiving was taking a rider like Doolan and for whatever reason him dropping 2 points off his average. Also I think Rob Lyon would have got more out of an obvious talent that is Jerran Hart, than Nick Simmons did.

Much of Kings Lynn's success came on the back of starting with a rider at No. 7 who went on to be No.1 by the end of the season. Perhaps we might see the same here this season?? Well you are right there mate.....Hart has got some ability, he needs help to fulfill his talent. Yes Rob Lyon is a good manager, and gets the best out of lots of the riders he works with. Mr Snackette
........... Also I think Rob Lyon would have got more out of an obvious talent that is Jerran Hart, than Nick Simmons did. Agreed Nick Simmons got nothing out of Hart!!! Probably just as well that he's not a team manager!! Definition of ignorant: "lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject" Point proved me thinks!!!
topaz325
Looks like a League winning side to me.................. well it worked last year. Some very strong looking sides have been put together so far this year with Ippo, Newport, Somerset and Redcar looking very good.
Bash
Mr Snackette, I think you took my comment in the wrong context, I was pleased with third and the 4tt last season. I was replying to semion who's team only finished tied third in the NsEL and won no silverware.

semion
Snackie, You dont remember the Sky meeting where Simmons was continully refered to as 'Nick' then.? You look forward to your season and dwindling crowd numbers. Just remember if you ever want to enjoy proper speedway racing Saddlebow really isnt that far, and how much you are paying to watch that standard. Baldyman
I would put morten at 5 at home and Matt at 5 away. Morten was using some pretty old engines last season, hope he has some newer ones this season. If we have an injury free season I can see us being good enough to make the play offs, then who knows. Just another piece of information that might provide your comments with a wee bit of credence and authority. Fact.....more people came through the turnstiles at Foxhall in 2011 than did in 2010 in the moribund NsEL. Thanks for the invitation to Compost Corner, but I never feel that comfortable in KL. It's probably down to the fact that my parents were not related to one another!!! Edited December 9, 2011 by Mr Snackette
tone deaf
Happy with the team. Hopefully the Aussies will spur each other on. A lot of expectations on 2 inexperienced reserves so responsibility with the skipper & experienced team members to help them especially on tracks they've never seen. Roll on March! Lovey
good to see brits given their chance at Ippo A big shame - but Chris Louis has stated all along he wants his own assets (whatever that means in speedway!) and by bringing in Heeps and Tungate has left no room for Mills or Hart, both who belong to other clubs. Schramm doesn't really match up with any of the top 5 - especially after his injury last season. I think that's a harsh but fair assessment. A top bloke, who will always give 110%, and he should get fixed up elsewhere, as with Mills and Hart. There are some good young Brits at Mildenhall - hopefully that channel will produce some in the coming seasons. Louis is definitely in this for the long haul, and 2012 will be only the second season of a new project. A huge well done to all at Ipswich.

Perhaps we might see the same here this season?? While I'd be loathe to compare Heeps or Tungate to Darcy and put all that pressure on them, and at the risk of repeating myself, this Witches line up reminds me very much of the 2009 Stars with an experienced number one, two very promising reserves and an ultra solid middle order. And you guys are making semmers' fishing trip far to easy
Baldyman
I didn't realise rohan is 21. I Wonder how good he could have been by now if he hadn't off tried his hand at road racing for a few years.
