dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Lanham rode pretty well at number 1 last night when it really mattered!! Indeed - and not the first time away from home that Leigh's performance has gained us points.
Baldyman
IT was a great ride from Leigh in 15, even better after Doyle tried the dive bomb up the inside which he had already tried earlier in the night on Morten and badly failed. Ipswich Jules
Who knows now lanham is back at no1 he might start riding like a no1 after being there before Or like a Number 1 who's riding for a team place next season - like Miskowiak used to do around this time every season..... I would think at least 5 clubs will be chasing Leigh on a sub 7 average.
Kester
Or like a Number 1 who's riding for a team place next season - like Miskowiak used to do around this time every season..... I don't know why Lanham is still mentioned as a number 1, he's never averaged what you'd expect from a number one. At his best he's a 7.5-8.0 man. I think half of his problem at Ipswich is that he banged in a few big scores at the start of the season and some seemed to think it would last. Pere Ubon
........he's never averaged what you'd expect from a number one. At his best he's a 7.5-8.0 man..... I think most Ipswich fans would have settled for that. Sadly I reckon his 2012 average is nearer 6, maybe a little lower.

So this all goes to prove the Witches need a genuine no1 next season something Ive been saying all this season and also this season for success! So far Witches have been devoid of having a genuine no1 for some reason but any fan can see that is whats needed along with my idea of a genuine no2 to head the Witches and inspire the other 5 by actually winning heats. We seem to win less heats than the opposition on numerous occasions and thats down to the Witches very weak top end. Yes but he has been riding nearly all season at no1 so he is the Witches no1, so in effect he is a no1.

You can't have the riders in the second string and reserves that we do and with a 8.5pt+ number one let alone two! There is a points limit you know! Tsunami
Yes but he has been riding nearly all season at no1 so he is the Witches no1, so in effect he is a no1. Glad you have come around to what others have been telling you all season. It's not his fault that another rider isn't higher, and he is not responsible for the poor form and injuries to other riders. It's taken you awhile to get upto speed, but we have got you there eventually.

No Ive not changed my opinion on anything lanham is at no1 so he is Witches no1 and he certainly has not ridden like one. You can't have the riders in the second string and reserves that we do and with a 8.5pt+ number one let alone two! There is a points limit you know! Wheres the problem in having 2 top heatleaders with a combined average of 16 ??? This leaves 26.5 for the other 5 riders plenty enough to have a very competitive team in my book and one that if the riders are chosen with skill and know-how could bring success at last to the faithful foxhall dwindling fans. I'm sure you will correct me if I'm wrong, but I tend to recall that your template for success was to have two riders with an 8.50+ average. Looking at the current Green Sheets only one team, Plymouth, have adopted this policy and they look to be missing out on the play offs. Indeed there are only five other teams that have a rider with an 8.50+ average. Of those Glasgow, Berwick and Rye House again look likely to miss out on the play offs. So out of the six teams that should reach the play offs only two, Workington and Somerset, will have an 8.50+ rider. Which proves that there is more than one way to build for success. I have never said Witches need 2 over 8.5 average riders in the team so please get your statements correct. Team building is all down to guile and knowhow by the management in actually knowing who is available, the great John Berry was a supremo at this and look at the success he had. Skill at manipulation is also whats needed, that 42.50 is a huge total to play with if all these factors are brought into use.
Pere Ubon
Ive been asked what team I would pick, well its not my job to pick the actual riders that job is down to the supposedly in the know louis! But a team with these averages would win the league = No1 9.0 No2 5.0 No3 7.5 No4 6.0 No5 8.5 No6 3.0 No7 3.5 Total 42.50 I state my case and will stick to it whatever that team would win silverware without doubt!!! By realist Aljack I have never said Witches need 2 over 8.5 average riders in the team so please get your statements correct........ Clearly my mistake????

Jeff Scott will probably do his next book, just quoting your incredible statements. As a bible, it would be right up there among the top two.
