redcarcub
Can't see any PL team being in a position to offer "silly money" to be honest..... Ipswich CAN because they have money left over from Sky from 2010!!!! A 6 figure deal from Sky for each EL club each season is a lot of money! Now we know why EL clubs have been able to survive on poor crowds!!!
tomcat
Ipswich CAN because they have money left over from Sky from 2010!!!! A 6 figure deal from Sky for each EL club each season is a lot of money! Now we know why EL clubs have been able to survive on poor crowds!!! And you know this...how? Its common knowledge, that Ipswich were near to going bust, so pray tell, where did this influx of money come from? Because it sure wasn't from Sky, neither would the Sackers sponsorship deal have been big enough to pay 'Silly' money. Or could it just be, that the club is run correctly, the riders treated with respect by the Promotion and that the fans are amongst the best in the country...barring one seriously sad individual, but then there's always one of those at most clubs these days unfortunately. I'm sorry, but you have no more idea of what we pay our riders, than I have about other teams wage structures, including your own club. Aries
I liked the comments from Chris Louis in the Star last week that as the winter unfolds the fans would get to see that the club wanted to sign up more assets. If the lad Tungate signs up i assume he would be one of them? Or is he on another clubs retained list?
Bagpuss
Heeps 3.00 Tungate 5.00 Doolan 7.36 Poole 6.53 Risager 6.26 Morris 5.99 Under a 42.5 limit that leaves 10.36 for a number one
Bagpuss
8.36 even And I used a calculator!
2ndbendbeerhut
8.36 for a number 1..... what a horrible position to be in!
Bagpuss
A team that solid wouldn't need a top drawer number one though, and by the end of the season I can see Morris being one of the top four or five in the league so whoever started at 1 in that hypothetical team probably wouldn't end up there. If the two Aussie lads at reserve lived up to their billing you could in theory see Risager and Poole at reserve after the first new set of green sheets, quite a scary thought. And so humble as well! Again it sounds like a good side that Ipswich are building though 4 teenagers (if the rumours on here are correct) would seem a bit much. Though I suppose the argument could be made that if your good enough your old enough and Ipswich seem to have the finance to cherry pick the best young talent. Looked a great side on paper last year to and it did'nt quite work out.
aljack
Heeps 3.00 Tungate 5.00 Doolan 7.36 Poole 6.53 Risager 6.26 Morris 5.99 Under a 42.5 limit that leaves 10.36 for a number one Yes its 8.36 available with your team suggested, who would you suggest as Witches new No1 ? Personally I would plump for Sam (lost control of my fingers ) Masters who I have a great regard for. Baldyman
Sam Masters would be my choice. A far better choice than Steve lol. Although 15 years ago Steve may have been ok.

Ipswich Jules
Heeps 3.00 Tungate 5.00 Doolan 7.36 Poole 6.53 Risager 6.26 Morris 5.99 Under a 42.5 limit that leaves 10.36 for a number one That team looks awfully familiar wouldn't you say 2ndBendBeerhut? How about, oh I dunno, Sam Masters to take the remaining team place? Now THAT would make me a very happy Jules!
Mr Snackette
Heeps 3.00 Tungate 5.00 Doolan 7.36 Poole 6.53 Risager 6.26 Morris 5.99 Under a 42.5 limit that leaves 10.36 for a number one I think we perhaps need to calm down a little. The above is based on the current GSA not the end of season figures. I would remind all contributors of Rule 17.4.1: "At the end of each Season the BSPA will produce a Listing of all Riders who have competed in British Speedway during that season and following approval and/or amendment at the BSPA AGM’s these CMA’s (i.e. excluding Bonus Points but including other allowances) will be the Riders CMA for the start of the following Season." Whilst under the current rules and regulations Heeps and Tungate would come in 3.00 and 5.00 respectively, and there is nothing to suggest that this position will change at the AGM, but it COULD. In addition I think that young Morris' end of season CMA is 7.17. So perhaps take a deep breath until such time as the AGM is over.
