..........I'm definitely different - indeed, we are all different (watch "Life of Brian"). I am special .............

Remember - "He's not the Messiah he's a very naughty boy, who tried to get into the event without a ticket!!!"

All right, but apart from the "the Witches Winner" , "the 400 Club", travel to away meetings, organising social events, running the Junior Witches section, organising the Rider of the Season awards, and providing funds to support the Promotion, what have the Supporter's Club ever done for us"!!!!

Lovey: Excuse me. Are you the Ipswich Speedway People's Front?

Committee Member: "F**k off! We're the People's Front of Ipswich Speedway!!!

...............with acknowledgement and humble apologies to all The Pythons.

On the main website, the "offending" kevlars are covered by folded arms - which suggests that something will be done: http://ipswichwitches.co/index.php/rider-details.

Is it really worth it? Apparently they're not cheap. The press and photo shoots have been done and dusted now so not sure it's worth the expense and hassle of changing them. Will hardly notice the difference on track they all still have the blue and white colours.

For what it's worth, I actually prefer the look of the "offending" Witches!

Lanham and Ipswich officials in extensive discussion after the meeting at Rye last night. Lets hope a deal was reached.

You dont think that Rye House might not be interested in signing Lanham, and they have him right now.Funny how speedway works isnt it,couple of weeks ago Lanham was on the outside looking in,now he`s a man in demand.

Rye may well be interested but so are Ipswich it seems. As he's an Ipswich "asset", the Ipswich promotion are quite entitled to discuss a deal with him.

My understanding though, is that Lanham may not be keen on an Ipswich return and as has been said before, he'll go where he wants to go.

I'm sure we'll know more in the coming days.

East Anglian Daily Times this morning (Monday, 19th March), Mike Bacon has speculated :

"With Ipswich looking to bring riders in, Lanham is surely the Witches' number one target. He's a Witches asset, lives next door to the track and although he and the Ipswich management were remaining tight-lipped at Rye House, it would be hugely surprising if Lanham turned down the chance to re-join his home-town club, with him only on a short-term contract at Rye House."

Len put in the Rye programme on Sat that Lanham is only a temporary signing and Nelson would be back once everything sorted, he`s also agreed that if a permanent PL place was offered to Lanham he would release him straight away.

I thought Rye had signed Leigh to cover Nelson until he was back but had to release him if he was offered a full time contract by a club. I might be wrong but I think thats how the story read at the time.

Think your right, but things have changed now. With Chris Neath sadly likely to be out all season Rye can offer Lanham a full seasons racing.

Indeed - and Ipswich might also be able to.

As a lot of others have pointed out, it's all to do with what Lanham himself chooses.
