Arch Stanton
Very much liking the sound of Chris Louis' plan. Expect more young assets signed over the next 12 months in readiness for an assault on the Elite league. For now, enjoy the premier league ride. Aries
On the main website, the "offending" kevlars are covered by folded arms - which suggests that something will be done: http://ipswichwitches.co/index.php/rider-details. Is it really worth it? Apparently they're not cheap. The press and photo shoots have been done and dusted now so not sure it's worth the expense and hassle of changing them. Will hardly notice the difference on track they all still have the blue and white colours. For what it's worth, I actually prefer the look of the "offending" Witches! screm
Lanham and Ipswich officials in extensive discussion after the meeting at Rye last night. Lets hope a deal was reached. You dont think that Rye House might not be interested in signing Lanham, and they have him right now.Funny how speedway works isnt it,couple of weeks ago Lanham was on the outside looking in,now he`s a man in demand. Rye may well be interested but so are Ipswich it seems. As he's an Ipswich "asset", the Ipswich promotion are quite entitled to discuss a deal with him. My understanding though, is that Lanham may not be keen on an Ipswich return and as has been said before, he'll go where he wants to go. I'm sure we'll know more in the coming days. Lovey
East Anglian Daily Times this morning (Monday, 19th March), Mike Bacon has speculated : "With Ipswich looking to bring riders in, Lanham is surely the Witches' number one target. He's a Witches asset, lives next door to the track and although he and the Ipswich management were remaining tight-lipped at Rye House, it would be hugely surprising if Lanham turned down the chance to re-join his home-town club, with him only on a short-term contract at Rye House." Baldyman
IT'S alright saying all that, but we don't know if rye have offered Leigh a longer contract. Would Leigh want to race for us again anyway after being dropped last time? I guess it will all come down to where Leigh thinks he can earn the most money. CardinalSin
Does anyone even know what sort of contract Leigh has signed with Rye? Does it cover a certain date or just become void when Nelson becomes available? I'm guessing Ipswich can't get him on a contract and in the team until his Rye contract expires? Could be a waiting game.
Tom Thumb
Len put in the Rye programme on Sat that Lanham is only a temporary signing and Nelson would be back once everything sorted, he`s also agreed that if a permanent PL place was offered to Lanham he would release him straight away. tonyd
I thought Rye had signed Leigh to cover Nelson until he was back but had to release him if he was offered a full time contract by a club. I might be wrong but I think thats how the story read at the time.
CardinalSin
But they don't have to do they. With all their injury problems as well, and the form he's shown, I'd be staggered if they haven't offered him a permanent deal now themselves. They look to be in a right mess at the moment. Indeed - and Ipswich might also be able to. As a lot of others have pointed out, it's all to do with what Lanham himself chooses.

With Lanham listed in Rye`s 1-7 at present, would Ipswich talking to Lanham be deemed an illegal approach??
