CardinalSin
Crumbs both Somerset and Leicester look to have awesome top ends. If Doolan has another season similar to this one, then we'll need a really strong heatleader to avoid getting bullied by these teams in 13 and 15. Chris Louis says on the official website that exciting team news will be revealed in middle of next week. You'd think they've got something up their sleeves. Maybe a newcomer on a 7.00, or maybe another Elite rider on a converted average? Pleasantly surprised Matt T looks like returning, thrilled the fans even more than Bjerre IMO last season. Just hope he doesn't miss too many meeting although the way we've started team building with those two reserves, maybe we won't be as hard hit as last year. Looking forward to next week. aljack
Maybe a new danish rider?. Looks like the rebels have an Awsome team if that's the case. We will struggle with their top end but we may be stronger at reserve. Same as aljack I would worry about the final heats. Many meetings were lost and points dropped due to no number 1 in heats 13 and 15 in 2011 and if no number 1 is signed to partner Doolan, the same will happen next season. Its no good having a solid side that will win nothing as has been proven many times over the years. With all these riders who Witches might have been interested in signing for other teams its getting a little worrying to say the least. I agree baldyman Somerset look awesome and they have the top end strength to win silverware.

Mr Snackette
I really am struggling to think of any rider that can come in and do a true heat leaders job. If you assume that Tres, Young Poole, and Risager will be the next three signings, and that Tungate is confirmed at 5.00, then the 7.18 available means that The Skipper will continue at number one. Under current regulations it is only the teams number one that is recognised as a heat leader, so we are really looking for a rider to fill one of the positions two to five. Mr Snackette
Danny King NsEL GSA 6.41 / 0.6 = 10.68 assessed PL average, which will be too high. Indeed another correspondent has written that a rider with a NsEL average in excess of 6.00 will not be able to ride in the PL, unless he did so in 2011. However I have yet to see this confirmed by any official source.

Lasse going is a blow, Tress staying would be a plus! Does anybody know where the boy Hart is going to land...........might be that his good value average would be used to fit in a big hitter at No.1.........downside.......would this put Tungate in the team? Yeah I get that, but we must be hoping that the rider can come in and improve his average and be pushing doolan for the number one jacket, with morten and Matt doing a good job at 3 and 4 or Matt at 5 and new rider at 3. Even then I still can only think of one, that you have put in the rebels team. There was meant to be riders asking to ride for ipswich. So who were they and where are they now? Travis? Rob mear? Tom Thumb
i fear we already have our No.1 and have gone for the strength in depth route. Can only hope Morten or Matt are ready to push on to true heat leader status otherwise away succeess could be hard to come by. (although should be very hard to beat at Foxhall)
Baldyman
I would be interested to know what percentage of heats 1 13 and 15 doolan won last season. Maybe rohan will improve enough to be a solid back up by the time the play offs arrive, that's if we are in the top 6 at the time. It's showing just how important Lasse was to our team last season. Can see him topping 9 easy next season. Edited December 2, 2011 by Baldyman

(although should be very hard to beat at Foxhall) I fear you may well be right!!!!! Lets hope the reserves both get double figures, so that when we get 1-5's in 13 &15 it won't make a difference. Having said that.....we could be one of those teams like Eastbourne that will always have a racer at reserve.

Bagpuss
The strength of the Ipswich team next year is that they are likely to have awesome reserves all through the season.
aljack
Although Im a huge fan of our 2 super young reserves, its alot to expect them to make the Witches team successful in 2012 all on their own. A number 1 was essential in my book and now it looks as though thats not going to happen and its now going to be Doolan with a pathetic 7.19. Whoever the final rider is if all predictions are right with the other 6, wont make that much difference as there will be a huge weakness in heats 13 and 15 especially in away meetings, just like 2011. These regular 2 - 10 or 3 - 9 are a killer when trying to get those extra points that make all the difference.
Bagpuss
What about heats 2,8,12 and 14 though?

Bagpuss
Unfortunately Greg I think Tom is way past his best now and numerous injuries over the last couple of years have taken their toll.
