squall
Don't think there would be a dry eye in the stadium if " The Messiah " was rewarded with a perfect end to his speedway career with victory in the PLRC . Come on Shane , make it happen Tigers fans unite for 1 night only?

redcarcub
With the September Greensheets now out I think we can confidently predict the line up for meeting. The Representatives for each team should be; Berwick; Seb Alden Edinburgh; Kevin Wolbert Glasgow; Joe Screen Ipswich; Kevin Doolan Leicester; Kauko Nieminen Newcastle; Mark Lemon (if fit) Newport; Charlie Gjedde Plymouth; Ben Barker Redcar; Jason Lyons Rye House; Chris Neath Scunthorpe; David Howe Sheffield; Shane Parker Somerset; Sam Masters Workington; Rusty Harrison The best of the 2nd heatleaders who also qualify are; Rene Bach Newcastle (if fit) Ricky Ashworth Sheffield If either Bach or Lemon are not fit then Jordan Frampton will qualify as the 3rd best 2nd heatleader. If Lemon is not fit, then Bach will replace him as the Newcastle rep and Summers will also replace Lyons as Redcar's rep. Next in line going on averages are... Ricky Ashworth 8.17 Josh Auty 8.11 Jordan Frampton 8.02 If it's worked out on the next in line by averages for the last 2 places, then Ashworth and Auty will get them. But if the final 2 places are decided on the best 2nd heat leaders, then Ashworth and Frampton will get them. Anyone know for sure how it is worked out for last 2 places? Nothing against Auty, but I hoped it's work out by the latter, because having THREE Sheffield riders in the PLRC at Sheffield, will just make it a joke!! It's about time the PLRC was taken back to Coventry, on a neutral track!!

It's about time the PLRC was taken back to Coventry, on a neutral track!! It does not work like that it works on representatives of clubs, Josh Auty will not get the place as he third in the Sheffield averages it will be the next best 2nd averaged rider in a team which should be Jordan Frampton. Thde revised line up will be; Berwick; Seb Alden Edinburgh; Kevin Wolbert Glasgow; Joe Screen Ipswich; Kevin Doolan Leicester; Kauko Nieminen Newcastle; Rene Bach Newport; Charlie Gjedde Plymouth; Ben Barker Redcar; Aaron Summers Rye House; Chris Neath Scunthorpe; David Howe Sheffield; Shane Parker Somerset; Sam Masters Workington; Rusty Harrison Sheffield; Ricky Ashworth Rye House; Jordan Frampton If any of the top 14 pull out of the they will be replaced by their clubs next best rider. Basically every club has a representative and the two remaining places are taken from the 2 best 2nd placed averaged ridera in a team. For Josh to get into the PLRC would take the whole of the remaining 2nd placed averaged riders to pull out. Lioness
I have to admit I would quite like to see Aaron do well - perhaps even podium behind Joe and Shane He has been a joy to watch every time I have seen him this season, even in one sided affairs like yesterday when he was the only one realistically challenging. Maybe I have just been lucky with my meetings but I have to wonder why he hasnt featured more in the EL, especially with teams starting to look towards next season

Silver Bee
He had a fair few meetings at number 8 last year and did a top job for us. Wanted him back this year, always rated him far higher than Sweetman even from back in the Edinburgh days. Not many people go to Sheffield and win heat 15s on their first visit. Arson fire
Looks pretty open this year, with a case being made for most of the field...should be good.
spanner47
It's a shame the clubs cant nominate their best rider, instead of going by averages. Lasse has been Ippo's best (and most entertaining) rider all season, but he wont be there. I'm sure the fans that are going would rather see Lasse than Kev, i've got nothing against Kev, but i'd rather see our best rider representing our club. torpointfanatic22
Will robbo be in the field now he's back?? Surely he will be as his average is higher than any other 2nd best rider. Lemon I would guess will be the Newcastle representative now he's back racing, with the 'wildcards' going to Robbo and Ashworth. Very much looking forward to my long trek up from Cornwall for this

NWS
1st - Alden 2nd - Parker 3rd - Howe 4th - Screen Alden is not the most consistent in an average PL meeting. What makes you think he'll be consistent enough to win a meeting full of the best riders? And before any Berwick fans go on the defensive, this is nothing to do with the Berwick-Newport banter.. Just a general question. Edited September 11, 2011 by NWS

Just a general question. I think he can, hes got as good a chance as anyone of the other 16 riders in 2 weeks time. We'll soon find that out anyway. But in recent seasons go by the most consistent rider over the season has hardly ever won the PLRC i.e. Ashworth in 09 for example.

The qualifying format of these League Riders Championships is and always has been the top-average rider from each league team, plus the next highests in the league to fill the 16+2 places. It started in the '60s with the Provincial Lge, the original PLRC. http://speedwaychampions.com/Trophies.aspx
