Arson fire
Thought the meeting was poor, and I would argue that the rider of the night was Nemo, who was harshly excluded for first bend bunching. Great turn out from the Leicester fans and nice touch by Nemo to pop round and thank us for our support. It appeared a gaters track all meeting but we did send a gater. Thought the crowd was light and baring the Berwick fans near us appeared mostly home fans, obviously waiting for an Ashworth victory. Next year hold it at an EL track thats central - hate to say it but Coventry would be the obvious answer (providing its not a Waitrose/Morrissons/Sainsburys/Tesco or Asda by the end of next season as it will be a bugger to miss the tills on the third bend.) Watched that race on tv in the bar, Kauko down on his own from what I viewed...agree though, a couple of points in that heat would have meant gate one in the final and probably the title. Pinny
Its still hilarious how Berwick fans simply cant get over what Gjedde done! They bleated on all winter about them signing him (after I had stated many times he would be a superb signing for Newport) and took the micky (WJM in particular) yet when Gjedde is poor for them, gets sacked and comes to Newport and averages over 10, they expect me not to have a go back! Its quality and everytime Gjedde rides for Newport, you just have to laugh at Berwick but thank them at the same time for allowing Gjedde to get a CMA of less than 7 points a meeting on. One poor meeting on a shocking track and people are ripping into him, as I have said a few times already yes would of been nice to see him make the final but he didnt, Doyley made the semis though so its not all bad. One bad individual meeting doesnt bother me, as long as when he pulls on the number one bib for the Wasps he rides to the standard of a number one, which he has each time, then I am happy. Its also humerous how people laugh at Newports crowds... I visited Scunthorpe a couple of months ago and the crowd was dreadful - 250 there tops and apparantly, according to a couple I know who travelled up (as fans) on Friday, the crowd was even worse this time around. Rye House suffer with terrible crowds now too as well as many other tracks and its hardly like Berwick are good for crowds - I have read screm, who is probably the most genuine Berwick fan on here, state the crowds have been poor and around the 500 mark a few times this year, which is where Newports crowds are at now. Anyway, back on topic, well done again Sam Masters

Pinny
A track tha produced the fastest time of the season!!! Read the Coventry Vs KL thread... that track produced some of the fastest of the year yet almost all the riders moaned about it. You seen enough of Charlie on Friday and possibly Saturday to know he is class. lets see what the riders have to say about lastnights track shall we. Maybe something to do with the visiting teams??? At least it doesnt take a half of our crowd to pay one rider,
Cliffeboy
Been away all day yesterday, just got on here to see how Sam did, what a wonderful effort by the young man,he has been superb for us all season, the only ever present in a team batterted by injuries. He follows Zorro om the honours board at the OTA for the PLRC. At least it doesnt take a half of our crowd to pay one rider, Our team is probably the best team in the league right now, maybe second behind Glasgow, so if your fans wont turn up to watch them then god knows what crowds you get when the likes of Plymouth appear. And as for half our crowd paying one rider, if thats the case with Gjedde then its money well spent... hes been complete class for us

Pinny
yes i have seen him and looks good, but not good enough to stop us winning 3 times out of 4 Ran you very close without a key rider Friday night and give you a good old thumping Saturday night though, when the Jorgy failed to score, even Mark Jones outscored him over the two meetings

Taylorj
A great day out, nice to meet Spin King, Squall and a very drunk Drac The meeting had some good racing but not alot of passing on this track, was very pleased with Rusty's efforts but did want Ben Barker or Kake to win. Well done to Masters (even tho it loathes me to say it )a surprise winner on the night!!

Bandits4eva
There's only oneeeee Seb Alden Cracking day out and best support that Berwick have given a rider for a LONGGGGGGGG time! He done us proud on track and more than likely will have felt he let us down when he bike failed at the tapes.. He certainly did not.. Oh, and hope Charlie got the message from us Leicester fans next to us certainly gave a very vocal support to their boy too.. other than that, it was awfully quiet in all honesty Those at the New Barrack Tavern... you made my day... good crack from great people

Halifaxtiger
absolute pure utter drivel, suppose he had no right to win the pairs at somerset either??????????!!! well done sam masters deserved winner of a pretty poor meeting in general. one or two should be ashamed of their performances and the supporters who pay their wages deserved better!!! The opinion on Ashworth not winning seemed to me to a be a general consensus........ certainly there were quite a few (including me) who didn't want him to win. I thought there were one or two going through the motions, too. I am not certain why Gjedde withdrew, but he certainly didn't look injured on Friday at Scunny. Leicester might have their problems, but I would rather go there than Sheffield. Horrible place. You must be having a laugh There's absolutely no comparison between the two. Yesterday was rubbish and I'd accept you have to pick and choose your meetings at Sheffield to see a decent one but when its good, its very, very good. Captive audience nowhere else to park £2 = rip off I have been to Sheffield 6 or 7 times this season and haven't paid to park yet. I wasn't sure I should go but I was bloody glad I did.

Pinny
Genuine question: Do Newport fans give Mark Lemon stick? Obviously a bit peeved at the time but most of us moved on way before the end of that season! We signed lanham who we were all happy with, and moved on and its a shame the berwick lot cannot do the same.
