With the September Greensheets now out I think we can confidently predict the line up for meeting.

The Representatives for each team should be;

Berwick; Seb Alden

Edinburgh; Kevin Wolbert

Glasgow; Joe Screen

Ipswich; Kevin Doolan

Leicester; Kauko Nieminen

Newcastle; Mark Lemon (if fit)

Newport; Charlie Gjedde

Plymouth; Ben Barker

Redcar; Jason Lyons

Rye House; Chris Neath

Scunthorpe; David Howe

Sheffield; Shane Parker

Somerset; Sam Masters

Workington; Rusty Harrison

The best of the 2nd heatleaders who also qualify are;

Rene Bach Newcastle (if fit)

Ricky Ashworth Sheffield

If either Bach or Lemon are not fit then Jordan Frampton will qualify as the 3rd best 2nd heatleader.

Not really as he is only the third heatleader at Newport.

From the PL Averages thread.

Charlie Gjedde.............13...59...145....6...151...10.24 [8.64]†

Leigh Lanham...............25..124...255...19...274....8.84

Jason Doyle................16...74...148...11...159....8.59 [8.53]†

In my opinion these are the averages that should be used. From these averages Lanham is above Bach, Ashworth and Frampton. These averages aren't used though so Lanham still couldn't have been far off qualifying since I think he'll be above Doyle by the time the PLRC occurs.

The use of the rolling averages for me does not give a true refection of the form riders of the season, my own personal opinion is that I don't like them.

The averages that are been used for the PLRC have been published and start from the 1st September, and those state;

Charlie Gjedde 8.16

Jason Doyle 7.90

Leigh Lanham 7.76

I agree with you. I don't like them either but one bonus is for example, Newport can keep Gjedde next season on an 8ish average with him still average 10 and Lanham on a high 7 when he's averaging high 8. Newport can also keep Kurtz at reserve which is an added bonus.

everyone has bad meetings, but majority of his has been really good

But the ones at Sheffield have been poor.

His record at Sheffield this season is;

2 meetings

10 rides

1st; 2 times

2nd; 4 times

3rd; 3 times

4th; once

Does not suggest good form around Sheffield.

Don't think there would be a dry eye in the stadium if " The Messiah " was rewarded with a perfect end to his speedway career with victory in the PLRC .

Come on Shane , make it happen :approve:
