Hi,

Im writing an article for a publication of the old Wolves/Cradley rivalry, and im particularly interested in any memories the more mature fans have about these meetings.

So if you have any funny stories, memories or anything you'd like to add, please do so and you will be qouted in the publication.

Many thanks

I remember attending an early season 'friendly' between the two clubs in the last year the Heathens operated at Dudley Wood, as there was no speedway in Newport at the time I always used to pick and choose my matches in this way. Anyway Cradley won a close and cracking match, but what I found quite uncalled for were a few Wolves fans who said something along the lines of ' It was a pity you were never shut down. ' Rivally can be a good thing when channelled properly, but I found those comments sad, especially as I came from a town that had lost it's speedway team several years earlier. When Dudley Wood finally closed I hope those Wolves fans felt ashamed of themselves. Sorry to be a bit negative, but thats what stands out in my memory. Mind you I could never seem to find the place when I went there !
