Sandie
This was posted on Facebook today by Mateusz - Those of you coming to Poland for the Speedway Grand Prix in Toruń this weekend: get ready for heat (32* in the shade on Friday) and probably a 48 hour, general strike at the Polish railway - over half of the services, mostly trains doing short distances like Bydgoszcz-Toruń, may not be running (and this is going to be confirmed tomorrow...). Other than that, it should be fun as always Just for your infoi guys. Wish I was going to be there. Great time last year. Maybe next
Pantherman
If there is a railway strike, what is going to be the best way of getting to Torun from Poznan airport on Friday? Could be a nightmare!!!
Rico
I wouldn't worry Pantherfan, the strike sounds like it's only going to affect local services. You should be fine getting from Poznan to Torun. I'm sure Mateusz will post details once information is confirmed. Rico
hyabb17
Thanks for the info. Me & my brothers have rented a car from Poznan to get us to Torun so are going to brave the Polish roads anyway so the trains should effect us too much. hyabb17
NO lack of watering holes in what is a terrific city. Enjoy... Can you suggest any particular ones? How far is the city centre from the stadium on foot?
HenryW
Can you suggest any particular ones? How far is the city centre from the stadium on foot? The stadium is about 3 miles from the main square. Plenty of bars around the square. I guess it would depend on what you like as to which would be recommended. It might be worth pointing out that for pre-match, there were lots of beer stalls outside the stadium last year. I guess it will probably be the same this year. Chesilmaster
I am flying in to Poznan from Heathrow on Friday morning. I can't wait. Hope the trains are running!!! Who wants to meet for a beer or 6?
Ghostwalker
Zorro will replace Kolodziej in Torun. Janusz is apparently hospitalized due to something that is supposed to have something to do with a liver injury after a crash. http://ekuriren.se/sport/speedway/1.1161550--zorro-kor-gp-pa-lordag

manchesterpaul
Absolutely no comments on the commentary and standings gaffes from me tonight lol. Not even mentioning one gone already. Sooooo on to the racing....... wow excellent Heat 4 then. Alan patience is a virtue racing by Heat 4 is good. Got to admit i was fearing the worst myself and thinking it's going to be way into the meeting before we got any action. So fingers crossed the last heat wasn't an exception. Incidentally, i noticed some heavy booing when Holta fell and stayed down when Gollob was leading the initial attempt of Heat 3. That brought to mind the thought would the Polish fans ever (have they ever) cheer on Holta over an actual born and bred Pole?

manchesterpaul
There are working links reported in the streaming thread in the international section. Heat 6 well lived up to it's billing of it's top class line up, a great race indeed. Hope those searching for streams managed to get them up and running in time. Update GRAND grand prix racing now, superb battling racing again in Heat 7. A pity the first three heats would have sent newcomers or casual viewers to the sport fleeing in their droves.
