Liverstam
Thought I'd try my hand at this, it's been a few years. Bear with me Round 15 of the Elitserien, to be ridden on Tuesday the 16th of August. Indianerna 46 1. Ryan Sullivan 2. Bjarne Pedersen 3. Joonas Kylmäkorpi 4. Antonio Lindbäck 5. Piotr Protasiewicz 6. Simon Gustafsson 7. Niels-Kristan Iversen Elit Vetlanda 44 1. Janusz Kolodziej Martin Vaculik 2. Peter Karlsson 3. Jaroslaw Hampel 4. Thomas H. Jonasson 5. Jason Crump 6. Christian Agö Patrick Hougaard 7. Jacob Thorsell Indianerna return home after being soundly beaten in Stockholm last week. But for Antonio Lindbäcks' sensational form riding at reserve, they had very few positives to take from that meeting. Ryan Sullivan was poor, but still alot better than the appalling danish duo of NKI and Bjarne Pedersen who looked amateurish at best. Joonas Kylmäkorpi and PePe were solid enough though and badly let down by their team mates. Home track advantage in Kumla promises to be another matter entirely this week, and the question is wheter Indianernas' form has begun to slump or if last week was just a one-off thing. Also, they won't be able to rely on Antonio from a reserve berth from where he wroke havoc last week this time around. Vetlanda meanwhile come off the back of a resounding home victory against the hapless Vargarna. A meeting, marred in part, by the pre-match controversies regarding Krys Kasprzaks illegal silencers found at inspection. Vargarna really have trouble at this time, so how much of a gauge of Vetlandas' form that victory will prove remain in doubt. Vetlanda however have begun to gear up and most suspect they will have one of the four play-off spots, and prove lethal at the end of the season. A top heavy side boasting the "combo" of Hampel/Crump will always be deadly at the end of meetings, which Västervik found out to their peril some weeks ago. Their reserves look rather weak as a consequence, and much will depend on how close Vetlanda can keep the scores towards the middle and end of the meeting. If they are still in contention by then, expect them to be really strong come the last few heats. Valsarna 55 1. Grigory Laguta 2. Artem Laguta 3. Tomas Gapinski 4. Krzysztof Buczkowski 5. Daniel Nermark 6. Scott Nicholls 7. Ludvig Lindgren Lejonen 35 1. Troy Batchelor 2. Mikael Max 3. Kenneth Bjerre 4. David Ruud 5. Darcy Ward 6. Dennis Andersson 7. Mathias Thörnblom Valsarna came back from the dead last week at home to Dackarna, to secure a 45-45 score and also the bonus point. This time around, the bonus looks secure from the get go and they'll surely be eyeing the full three points from this one. Three points they sorely need if they are to continue to push for a play-off place. Currently they are fifth, three points behind both Hammarby and Vetlanda. Lejonen come off the back of a home victory against Västervik, where they meant to use R/R for Chris Holder but failed to produce the necessary doctors' certificate. This surely cost them the bonus point, but they managed to open up some daylight between them and the dreaded ninth spot in the table. No Holder this time around neither, but the in-form Kenneth Bjerre could make up for some of that loss. Vargarna 44 1. Lee Richardson 2. Kim Nilsson 3. Adrian Miedzinski 4. Tai Woffinden 5. Nicki Pedersen 6. Michael Jepsen Jensen 7. Eric Andersson Piraterna 46 1. Maciej Janowski 2. Linus Sundström 3. Greg Hancock 4. Przemyslaw Pawlicki 5. Jonas Davidsson 6. Jesper B. Monberg 7. Piotr Pawlicki As stated before, Vargarna are truly the off-form team at the moment and desperately in need of points as they currently hold the automatic drop-out place of ninth in the Elitserien. Heralded as a gold candidate before the season after the acqusition of Nicki Pedersen, they have lost track completely. So what will it be this time around. Their home track of Kråkvilan is notoriously odd, being very small and narrow. Personally, if I may indulge, I can't stand the place. The bikes are never near to reach any sort of speed round there. However, it does give great home track advantage. I expect Vargarna to do well here, and if they do, the bonus point is close at hand. How they need those three points! Piraterna are having a great season, championed by current world no. 1 Greg Hancock. They sat out last weeks round but are still rather comfortably in second, and well among the play-off berths. This week much may come down to how well their poles ride the awkward Norrköping track. It's somewhat of a pole-killer, as they probably never have seen the likes of that track back in their home country. This is, as I understand, the televised meeting courtesy of Canal Plus. Västervik 38 1. Rafal Okoniewski 2. Tomasz Jedrzejak Sebastian Ulamek 3. Chris Harris 4. Trawis McGowan 5. Peter Ljung 6. Pontus Aspgren 7. Nikolai Klindt Hammarby 52 1. Tomasz Gollob 2. Robert Kosiecha 3. Magnus Zetterström 4. Rory Schlein 5. Gregorz Walasek 6. Henrik Karlsson 7. Andrej Karpov Västervik are in dire need of points, but are not riding well at the moment. Sebastian Ulamek is dropped this week, team manager Mikael Messing disappointed with both his attitude and points haul of late. Chris Harris looked good in the Målilla Grand Prix at the weekend, and Västervik will be looking to him to lead from the front. While the bonus point seem lost, they will surely be gunning for a fresh two points to hold off the bottom of the table and to gain confidence ahead of the "play-out play-offs" coming up ahead. Remember, teams 5-8 in the series will have a play-off to avoid 8th and demotion. Hammarby change things around this week after the very impressive defeat of Indianerna in Stockholm last Tuesday. The deputising Norbert Kosiuch who was brought in as a replacement for the injured Robert Kosiecha, is no longer available. Kosiecha is back in the saddle and comes back in to the team. Considering how well Kosiuch did in the two meetings he rode, it might be that this is actually a weakening of Hammarby. Tomasz Gollob returns from injury and to his former home track in Sweden aswell. Hopefully he'll look alot sharper than in Målilla at the weekend. He surely knows his way around the Västervik track, where he rode for many years. Zorro Zetterström has also called Ljungheden home in the past, but then again, where hasn't he been? Hammarby also change their swedish junior this week, Freddy Godlund going out of the team and Henrik Karlsson coming in. They are looking for all the three points, but must have atleast one. To be fair, if Hammarby slip up here they might face a decider for the fourth play-off spot, away to Valsarna in the weeks to come. Best avoid that - so keep plugging away! Ghostwalker
i think that its not a big deal for Indianerna to have Anto9 as nr 4 since they now got Iversen on reserve. The meeting is also interesting since its a potential (semi) final pairing. imo indianernas reserves will win thee meeting for indianerna. This is supposed to be due to Janusz poor performance yesterday, Strange one that, I wonder if Bosse Wirebrand will stand for it. Anders, do you have a comment? Meanwhile Jedrzejak is withdrawn after his bad crash yesterday, while Ulamek is called back to the fold in Västervik.
Anders
The meeting is also interesting since its a potential (semi) final pairing. imo indianernas reserves will win thee meeting for indianerna. It is a potential semifinal pairing, I give you that, even though we (Elit Vetlanda) are far from a certain team among the top four. It might look secure now, but with this away fixture coming up, and not riding at all next week, we may slip down the standing ahead of the two final rounds of the regular season. If, a that's a big if, we make the Play Offs, the outcome of tomorrow's meeting may well decide if Indianerna chose Elit Vetlanda in the semifinal. A comfortable home win may cause the Indians to chose Elit Vetlanda, but if we get a good result tomorrow (and with last season's two smashing away victories at Kumla in mind), I'm not sure Indianerna makes that choice. Anyway, they are the side to beat this year, and they know it. Or at least, they should. Strange one that, I wonder if Bosse Wirebrand will stand for it. Anders, do you have a comment? I haven't heard anything for certain, but I also have a hard time to believe that he will stand for it. He looked in peace and harmony when he was at the track earlier tonight, so I guess the final word hasn't been said, or printed, yet. I'm not particulary worried, but that may just be the fact that a win at Kumla would be a bonus in any circumstances. With or without Kolodziej. We'll see. What do you make of this Anders? The fact that Janusz was banned from riding in Sweden by his polish masters.
