Niclas
We can have plenty of opinions and ideas about who we would like to see in the GP or what kind of qualificationsystem we would prefer but has BSI ever surprised us? No is the answear and it will not happend this year neither. The nineth and tenth place will get a WC and Harris will get one as long as he is considered to be the best british rider. But I would prefer if the bottom-7 in the GP could have met the top-9 from GP Challenge and the best five would get a ticket to next year GP and that BSI only could nominatee two riders (in case of injury for example). But that solution require the best of worlds. I hope atleast G. Laguta gets a WC next year. He is tough enough to fight with the best and I believe he could end in the top-10. Optimist
a coincidental(?) thing is that all three qualifiers are riding for the same team (Indianerna) in Sweden. Also, aren't thay all Poole assets as well?
JCookie
Surely Nicki will refuse a WC if he doesn't make the top 8? If Poland still goes ahead with the limit on GP riders then he will one of, if not the, best non GP rider out there and will probably get well rewarded. HenryW
Had Holta been in concideration had he taken a sick leave from the GP's? Is it punishment for biting your teeth together and having a go? I'm not exactly objective in this matter, but I can feel the frustration when he has to get top 8 or qualify, while others fly through either way. Whilst I agree that Rune has it tougher than some others, I think he made his bed when he decided that he didn't want to race as a Norwegian any more. If I remember rightly, he was happy enough to take a permanent wild card for 2002 and 2003 as a Norwegian when Norway had a GP round. His later switch to being "Polish" when Norway no longer had a GP has put him in an awkward position. If he had sat out the series this year due to the injuries he has suffered, I doubt he would have got much support from the Polish authorities for a place next year. I am sure they have enough of their "own" that they would rather push for instead of a Norwegian Pole. I like Rune, but I am not sure he is any more deserving of a place next year than riders like Grigory Laguta, Thomas Jonasson or Darcy Ward...and they all have their home federation to fight their corner...Well, I think Grigory still does. I am slightly confused about how much he wants to become Latvian
Pinny
I dont mind watching Lindback again as he is an entertainer when put on a proper track where you can pass, and Bjarne mixes it with the best and is still a very good rider who has won GPs and made finals on his way to featuring in the top 8. But watching Pepe doesnt get the juices flowing at all and he will no doubt be one of the back markers in 2012. Still feel Anton has a lot more to offer to the sport. His world cup form was good and his recent GP scores are improving. he was head and shoulders above anyone on display at Vetlanda, having watched the meeting. I am slightly confused about how much he wants to become Latvian I see your point, and will not be surprised if he isn't awarded a spot, on count of being Polish. However IMO, nationality should not have been an issue as this is an individual contest. Had it been up to me, all riders hould have to qualify each year, and in the year the contest is held, not the year before.
