Keeping my fingers crossed for Holta. He has had a horrible season due to injury, and should be given one last chance to prove himself. Nicki is having his second crap season, unless he pulls it together the last rounds. Freddie also has the chance to step up.

Niclas
If the standing stays like it is now, Nicki, Freddie and Harris will get a Wild Card. The last one is between THJ, Darcy and G. Laguta. As a swede i would love to see THJ in the GP but BSI will probably prefer two russians or three aussies instead of four swedes. Jez
That has to be the worst line up for the SGP Challenge yet, not really one of the riders would set the world on fire more like a spoilers meeting rather than a challengers meeting. I know it's all about riders qualifying to get there but surely the likes if Darcy Ward, Troy Batchelor, Grigory Liguta and Thomas H Jonnason should be in the line up rather than riders who have been there done that and won no t-shirts. T.N.T.
Bjarne Pedersen replaces Artem Laguta Piotr Protasiewicz replaces Rune Holta Darcy Ward replaces Janusz Kolodiej Chris Harris ? ..... will he be replaced or be the lone Brit again ? .... Do England deserve a permanent GP rider ? Zagar, Batchelor, Vaculik, Kasprzak ..... all could be considered as could the WU21 Champion ( if not Darcy)

Of course they should but they didn't qualify. If we are to just pick riders at random it becomes the closed shop it was 6 years ago. As much as I find Bjarne boring and Pepe Proposterous, they all had the same opportunity to be there. Lindback on his form of late is a worthy inclusion though. Just a shame he blows hot and cold because I like to watch him when he's in hot mode.
flagrag
There will be at least one British rider in SGP in 2012 but as will have to be a wild card maybe a change of rider will happen. Who the other wildcards will be may become clearer in next couple of weeks I expect if Darcy Ward has a good one in Torun that he will be in and will be surprised if Lindgren is left out. The Russians and Laguta brothers did themselves no favours with BSI and FIM after the world cup and Cardiff fiasco so believe it will just be Emil for 2012

Laguta. As a swede i would love to see THJ in the GP but BSI will probably prefer two russians or three aussies instead of four swedes. If the standings stay as they are, which I doubt they will, IMHO Freddie should NOT get a place next year. Freddie needs to make the top 8 this year or spend a season on the sidelines. I also wouldn't give Harris a place for next year if he doesn't make the top 8. It's time the SGP riders were given a lesson by IMG. If you don't make the top 8 and don't do the qualifiers, you should expect some harsh treatment. I find it pretty pathetic that these guys just ignore the qualifiers and expect a place if they fail to make the cut in the series. Having said that, the best option for me would be to return to the old system where the SGP failures took on the best of the rest in the GP Challenge. Unfortunately, the series has got so big that it runs right into October and that isn't viable now.
Ghostwalker
i agree with you HenryW. Lindgren & Harris should not be considered. if the current standings is to judge from then i'd pick G.Laguta, Thj, Darcy (if he does well on torun) then as 4th pick i don"t know, Nicki maybe. mothorsen
I can understand the economic and commercial reason to bring Harris in as a WC should he not make top 8, but why not have a permanent brit spot for the GP instead of all the trouble finding exuses as to why someone who hasn't deserved a spot should get one. So Harris in for the crowds at Millenium, and Nicki 'cause he might do something silly. Had Holta been in concideration had he taken a sick leave from the GP's? Is it punishment for biting your teeth together and having a go? I'm not exactly objective in this matter, but I can feel the frustration when he has to get top 8 or qualify, while others fly through either way. Holta ended last season on number 4, which is an outstanding merrit, and looked forward to be in contention for a medal this year. However he had a nasty crash wrecking both his wrists and is likely to undergo surgery. Still has a go in the GP's and rides league matches. I say give him one chance to prove himself. Had his performance been poor without injury, I'd shut up about it, but it isn't and I won't.
salty
Keeping my fingers crossed for Holta. He has had a horrible season due to injury, and should be given one last chance to prove himself. Nicki is having his second crap season, unless he pulls it together the last rounds. Freddie also has the chance to step up. I think Holta will probably regret trying to ride through the pain this season. He's clearly nowhere fit enough to compete and would probably have been better off having the op on his wrists back in the spring. Unfortunately, he knows that he is unlikely to get any help from a nomination so he carried on, but it is painful watching him. As Mothersen says above, Holta was in a no win situation. Plenty of other riders in the same boat would have had the likely luxury of knowing they would be given a nomination. MattK
For me, there are no riders who obviously deserve a wildcard for 2012. I wonder if BSI will take a different approach and maybe nominate the top three riders from this year's World U21s?

spook
I'll eat my hand if there isnt a Brit permanently in the GP field next year. It would be preferable if Bomber can string some decent performances together though and qualify as of right again. The handouts are an embarrasment. Fully agree about guys not entering qualifiers being pathetic Henry, its become a game of chess and diplomacy. Time for a shake up and it being mandatory that anyone not finishing in the top 8 has to enter Qualification the following season if they want a chance to participate in the GP's the year after that........ I suspect though that it is IMG more than anyone else who is happy with things the way they are as it allows them more options happy about Antonio qualifying and he is starting to look like the guy that everyone tipped him to be........... what a shame though that the fast rising Vaculik didnt quite get there... and instead Pepe did! ....... Pepe can be a great rider to watch... but as he has proven time and time again... not in the GP's................... and hopefully we will be getting the new Bjarne instead of the old one
Ghostwalker
a coincidental(?) thing is that all three qualifiers are riding for the same team (Indianerna) in Sweden.
HasseHolmqvist
I can see Nicki stepping down from the series next year if he does not make the top eight, I think he KNOWS in himself that his days on the rostrum are over (overall rounds) ... he can then concentrate on the Leagues and still pile up a few points there As for Harris I think its time for Wuffy to take his place, he has been woefull this year so far Looking forward to seeing Antonio & Pepe ride again, Lindback could easily make the top 8 as unlike Freddie he can gate AND pass people... as for Freddie he is never gonna win it unless he learns to gate, so I as a Wolves fan would rather have him concentrating on us
