this is the fault of all the idiots at the FIM ,they created this situation ,i suppose they didnt see this coming did they ? ,oh yes they did ,the truth is they dont give a rubbish cause they have already had their moneys worth of the silencers, eddies not the only one ,he,s just the one who,s got caught, still we got the briggo dirt (money scam)deflector issue to look forward to

Indeed, and I look forward to seeing what those on sky have to say about it

Then you would probably not have speedway at the likes of Birmingham, Leicester or some of the ones who have got planning permission.

The Poles soon relented when they were probably told they would lose all their world championship meetings if they didn't change.

Quite possibly, that being the only positive of this meddling by the fim

I would say Eddie's mechanic last night was his Dad so its a bit for him to difficult to argue that one.rolleyes.gif Now we know why Dave Kennett threw a wobbler when the silencer was taken away.

If Eddie had not been caught he would have earned around £2000 points money last night, plus who knows how much from other meetings, so we can see why some riders might think its worth taking a chance if the risk of getting caught is small, and if they think they will only get a small fine of say £1500 as Madsen did. It needs a strong penalty as a deterrent.

Also think of the other riders. If a rider on an illegal silencer gets enhanced performance and beats riders with standard silencers he is in effect stealing points money from them that he doesn't deserve. It is dishonest.

The punishment needs to fit the crime. Any rider cheating needs to be hit very hard in the pocket otherwise there is no deterrent and the practice will carry on.

Is that right 'Dave Kennett threw a wobbler when the silencer was taken away' ??

I really don't think Tatum is anti Coventry somehow, he can't get enough of Sayfutdinov!

And Jerran Hart's scores went downhill afterwards...

Aye, I believe he was pulled out of the meeting when he guested for Somerset due to his silencer not complying with the rules.

The only reason his points weren't deducted that day was because it couldn't be proved when the 'change' to the silencer happened, as I believe it was argued it occured due to an on track collision. Don't quote me on that, but from memory I think that was the situation.

Tatum is NOT anti Coventry and why would he be? After all, he only rode at Brandon for..... six, yes SIX! seasons (1985-1990).

I don't find myself often agreeing with Poole fans (or Starman :P) too often, but on this occasion... I do!) If Tatum is anti towards any club, then by far and away....... the runaway leaders of the Kelvin Tatum anti award are Ipswich by a long shot.

the clamp was loose, hard to prove it was deliberate

Dave King rips apart silencer to prove it's illegal. He does. Ed asks for independent person to check the silencer, how do they do that with a silencer that has been taken apart? Should the manufacturer really be the one taking it apart?

I think there's got to be more to the story. I'd wait and hear from Kennett and Coventry first. However, even if he's found to have deliberately done this I wouldn't call for a ban, rather a probationary period where his machines are subject to constant checking. It would serve no-one, least of all British speedway.

Sorry I don't agree!

If athletes are found to have taken drugs to enhance performance they are banned for a lot longer than 7 days.

If the silencer has been deliberately tampered with it was done to enhance performance, same thing in my eyes!

I agree with this...it should be Dave King taking it apart as he would know how it should look - and hopefully did look when it left his workshop. However it should be done with an independent scrutineer overseeing the process imho.

What if, remember the problem with tyres being tampered with what if club (bspa) provide exhausts then would that cut out any suggestions of cheating that way then the liability would rest solely on the club not the rider only a suggestion

Can't argue with that. I'm in two minds. Normally thing like that would be done by someone independent though.

In this case, it's a moot point, Ed has accepted the silencer is dodgy anyway, I was just thinking in general terms.

............ more drugs and alcohol tests should be done at tracks.

...........as long as it doesn't include the crowd, otherwise we'd never get past the gate.

........... this endangers the free speech that most people on here enjoy, its only a few idiots that don't know when to stop. Only thing I would credit to Shovlar for is that he posts under his own, most of those who spout similar garbage don't.

Got that right, Chris. The tripe spouted by the Anonymous Keyboard Commandos that plague this forum is far worse than any of Steve's wind-ups.

Surely Steve's post is tongue in cheek? Why are people jumping out of their prams about it?

You wouldn't want to take away their sole reason for living?

Oh for gods sake I post a windup and the forum goes into hyperdrive.

Either way it's a Coventry rider who cheated, and that brings disrepute on that club. Perhaps I was a little over the top in my post and for that I apologise but at the end of the day club rivalries make it funny that Coventry are the ones who have been caught out.

Thou it pains me to stick up for Steve but ive seen people me including call Poole cheats and and far worse ...why people feel the need to grass people up i will never know ...give stick out take the stick .

Quite right, orion; there's been far worse posted against Steve and Poole than we've seen on this thread.

Goodonya for removing the offending post, Steve; now in all fairness and as a favour to Forum Admin everyone who quoted it should remove their posts as well, but of course we know that won't happen.

Well, seen as he his the manufacturer, he probably would be the best person to know if the hole's have been drilled bigger, for the smallest advantage without getting detected (Noise) Kennett has been a bit silly, he would have been better to go big and add 50cc to the motor, cos they never get checked nowadays! :o

Dear oh dear.

And the Coventry fans have the cheek to call Poole cheats, I remember the time when they ripped into Madsen for using one abroad, well its all coming back to haunt them now :D

Couldnt happen to a nicer team
