Wendy
Just got back. From an unbiased point of view..... Why do you say that and then come up with a load of biased comments? I don't see Darcy's alleged fall as that was during closed practice - how did you see it? I thought the meeting was anything but dull though it lost bit of sparkle after the heat 6 crash. Nothing to do with the track. Both Pawlicki brothers did a decent job, though Piotr was better than Shamek. Vaculik was pretty good for a first time visitor Michael Jepson Jensen wasn't as good as I thought he would be. Janowski was good value - as he was the last time he rode at Poole. The crowd wad a lot better than 1500. The stand at Poole holds 1200 and there were another couple of hundred in front of it plus the bends plus the glass fronted stand. I would guess at over 2000. There was a racing line close to the fence, but half the time, Darcy was riding right on the fence. And speaking if fences, it came from Swindon not Coventry. I rather suspect that Mr Sandhu would be reluctant to lend Mr Ford anything!! Otherwise, your report was "unbiased"....yeh, that'll ne right!!! Wendy
Sorry - useless phone won't let me edit! What I meant was that Darcy was riding the inside line half the time rather than "20 cm from the fence". Pretty exciting it wad too
BigFatDave
Lol, will be nice to read an impartial report from somebody who supports neither Poole or Coventry Phil Chard?
CB252
I don't see Darcy's alleged fall as that was during closed practice - how did you see it? Â By attending the practice session obviously. Surprised you weren't there. Turned out to be more fun than the meeting. Â There were about 3 decent races in the meeting folks. Anyone that tells your otherwise is lying or joking. Â The crowd wad a lot better than 1500. The stand at Poole holds 1200 and there were another couple of hundred in front of it plus the bends plus the glass fronted stand. I would guess at over 2000. Â Another Poole fan that sees the need to over inflate crowd figures, even for an FIM meeting! 1,500 was a generous estimate. Not sure where all these mythical fans stand or sit in Poole Stadium?! Catalan
Just got back. From an unbiased point of view, the meeting was actually very dull with very few good heats to speak of on the usual Poole track which was like a motorway, save for the thin strip of dirt 20cm from the fence. Â Young Pawlicki gave a good display, Older Pawlicki not so. Vaculik was very poor on his first Wimborne Road display in my opinion. Was expecting far more from him, as were the majority of the rest of the crowd of about 1,500. Same goes for Jepsen Jensen. A special hand to Janowski for bouncing back from his defeat by Burmeister on Friday to finish joint first on the day. Â Hilarious moment of the day ocurred during the mornings practice session. Darcy Ward came out for his first session and popped a few wheelies, did a bit of showing off and then promptly slid off on his first proper lap into the, quite excellent, FIM approved safety fence (provided by Avtar Sandhu and Coventry Speedway). D'oh, unlucky big head! Â Darcy capped a dull meeting off perfectly, by arrogantly dismissing his opposition on the rostrum, and announcing to all and sundry that he expected to win. Â Â Try Ronnie and Swindon re fence.
Steve Shovlar
CB252 makes me laugh. What a load of rubbish waffle. Â The meeting was far from dull. Some absolutely cracking races. Andersson and Pawlicki, ending in an hilarious tantrum from the Pole, and the superb battle between Ward and Andersson. What about the Dudek and other young Pole? What about Jensen and Piotr Pawlicki? What about Palicki snr coming from last to first, and Janowski doing the same? What about heat 20 and Ward going from last to first? Â Loads of dirt on a well prepared curcuit with passing on the inside and outside. Perhaps CB252 didn't notice Andersson's move up the inside of Pawlicki, the young Pole's move on Dudek, or Ward and Janowski's moves around the outside of other riders. Â Oh dear CB252 is being shown up. Even got where the airfence came from wrong. Â The crowd was around 2500. Grandstand full, busy in front of it and busy on the bends. Grandstand and resturant busy. Â Me thinks he drove back simmering with disappointment after Pawlicki croaked under the pressure of the day. Â Good track, good racing, good crowd, good result. Â The crowd was woeful. CB252 is being generous with 1,500. The stand only holds 1,100 and it certainly was not full. The stadium only holds 3,900 and you're saying it was more than 50% full. Where do all these 2,500 people hide themselves?

Pawlicki embarrassd himself with a massive tantrum in front of the main stand and couldn't stand the pressure of the event. Â The Poole Stadium manager announced after last years play off final (a meeting you may remember) that he was required to order the doors be shut when 3900 customers had passed through the turnstiles. This is the health and safety maximum attendance for a Speedway Meeting at Poole stadium. He also stated that this left about 400 people unable to enter the stadium. Â It was well documented at the time and I am sure if you look hard enough you will find mention of it on this forum. Â Stop living in your little dream world and get real! racers and royals
No neutral meeting report yet then. Good job I'm a patient fellow I was there and definately a neutral.I thought it was a decent meeting allowing for the difference in class between the field(thought Steven Worrall looks a good prospect). There was a fair amount of dirt on the track-plenty moved about by the graders every 4 heats. As for Pawlicki snr`s fall in heat 6-yes he was upset but he did try to re-connect his cut-out before he was lapped but failed.as for the crowd about 2500 i estimate. Actually feel sorry for the Coventry fans that went yesterday, they must of hated going all that way to see Darcy win and especially when Darcy passed both Pawlicki's in heat 20 in one move! Â I,m only stating what the Poole Stadium manager said after last years play off final. The figures you mention are from the distant past when additional accommodation had to be installed for the WCF and the Mark Loram comeback is just a make believe figure, dreamed up by someone like Shovlar I suspect, that was never officially announced. Bagpuss
Thank you racersa and royals. Its a pity that seemingly every thread has to be spoilt by petty bickering nowadays. I think Darcy was always going to win yesterday but I wouldn't rule any of the Poles out with three rounds to go. Younger Pawlicki in particular seems a special talent. CB252
2,500 crowd. Some people really make me laugh! The grandstand was far from full save for about the first three rows of each block. There was no more than about 100 standing in front of it. More imaginary crowd figures from the Poole faithful. Â I'll have to severely reprimand my BSPA source for the incorrect info about the fence at the mornings Practice session if it indeed it was the Robins fence. Lol, not like a someone from the BSPA to get something wrong! Anyhow, let's just be thankful it wasn't Poole's normal, non FIM, Poundland fence, otherwise Gustafsson and Loktaev could have been in a real mess! Â I defy anyone to suggest that there were more than about 3 decent races. Pawlicki-Andersson, Ward-Andersson and... can't even remember who was in the 3rd decent race! Any other passes ocurred up the back straight when inferior riders were clipping the fence on the exit to the 2nd bend. It's all there on the DVD folks. No need to make believe that a meeting was entertaining when it wasn't. Â You did get one thing right. I did drive home annoyed as nobody in their right mind would have wanted to see the jumped up arrogance of Ward pass the post first. Lol, wonder why he's a favourite of yours?!! Â I've never seen you celebrate as much as when Pawlicki fell off either. Showing your class at every opportunity. davidba
I really enjoyed it(Though i have been starved of speedway of late!),half a dozen really enjoyable heats. Such a shame we were missing the likes of Sundstrom,Bogdanovs and MB Jensen, could have been a classic. Sadly the Brits, apart from from an improving Haines, were just fillers, as were Fajfer and Zmarzlik. MJ Jensen was all over the place in his first few rides, looked a lot better than that when i saw him at Torun. Vaculik was also a little dissapointing, perhaps the pressure of effectively riding for a future Poole place? Kovacic was better than expected and could do a job in the PL for someone. Â Piotr P a real plus though, looks as good as big bro already, at 16 a real superstar in the making. Felt that in heat 20 his older bro tried to take Ward wide to the fence on his behalf, but Ward was just too good and still got by. Â Never been Darcy's biggest fan but have to admit he is looking superb and really hope he gets a GP place. Â Hope UK gets a round of the U21 final each year. In fact the track was about spot on and puts Brandon to shame, as you well know but would be loath to admit. Â Crowd was around 2500, as someone who was there, and has no bias, has already stated. Keep chomping on those sour grapes. Pawlicki wasn't up to the job.
