Mark
IMG don't seem to agree with you, Mark - Gothenberg, if they manage to placate the Weather Gods, is a ripper, right in the middle of town, and I've heard no complaints about Terenzano from my mates who were there recently, far from it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion Dave. Agree that Gothenburg is in the centre of town, thought about going myself, but luckily decided against it. Nice venue but how many times have we had a good GP there. That's one not ruined by a crap track with holes in it and/or heavy rain. I'll stick to my view that Terenzano doesn't produce good racing with passing opportunities.
Chris
A venue/track like Terenzano should be nowhere near holding a GP. Quite clear to see that after the track fiasco at the Gothenberg GP a couple of years ago that they can't get any sort of crowd for that venue and looks awful on the box with no one in the stadium. Both should go along with Prague if they can't sort their track out.

BUDGIE
I've sat at various places all round the stadium and never been stopped yet. Maybe you look too guilty! There are normally 14 or so of us though, us Budgies tend to 'flock'!
Mark
I enjoyed Leszno as a venue, great stadium, great ambience, but this year the racing was poor. What's your cure for that? I dont know what the answer is Dave. In some cases I reckon the racing doesn't reflect the state of the track, by that I mean the amount of grip & dirt on it. The riders are all very talented and, we hope, on equipment that is equal. So with 4 riders going roughly the same speed it takes a mistake, or a great bit of riding, to get a pass. It's noticable how many different riders are winning heats, winning GP's, and great riders are having bad nights like Crump and Gollob in Italy. Maybe it's set up but maybe its just that it's so competitive and anyone can win. Terenzano has long fast straights but a tight entrance into the corners, so that dont help, nor does the white dust they race on. Gothenburg gets waterlogged too often to make it a round to put in tha diary. It's also suffered from holes in the past. Someone with a better memory than me will know how often Gothenburg has been ruined by the wet weather in the last 10 years. What's your answer Dave ? What's your answer Dave ? 2003+2010+2011 that i can remember straight away, 2005-2006-2007 there were no gp at Gothenburg. Thats means 50% of the last 6 gps at Ullevi have been affected by rain. However even the years that haven't been ruined by rain have offered a poor track full of holes and ruts. anyway i just found an article saying that Ullevi signed a 5 year!!! deal in 2009 so i guess there will be a sh*tty gp at Ullevi for another two or three years. So i guess that GotEvent that organizes the event in Gothenburg have paid some really good money to Bellamy's pocket. http://svt.se/2.9302...edway_pa_ullevi Edited August 13, 2011 by Ghostwalker

manchesterpaul
SOME dates still being shuffled but anticipate some more confirmations shortly. Sincerest apologies Philip for cheekily drawing you 'off topic' but any chance of you grabbing a second to input some 'knowledge' in the following thread? http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=66860&st=25 It's a one-off request but as with your magazine you are more times than not likely to have the actual facts on hand. So we could all do with some inside information as i've never seen such a farcical amount of conflicting permutations. Hope you still around the forums and not ZZZZZ-ing away by now lol. RPNY
...Terenzano has another year of its contract to run. On that note did anyone find out what the REAL reasons the 2nd (of supposedly 3y contracted) German GP in 2008 wans canceled? I was so pssed off standing there in bright sunshine out side a stadium that had a roof!! I wrote to BSI, alas was sent a reply that may as well been written in mandarin for all the sense it made! Ghostwalker
also according to article i mentioned in my previous post. 2012 will be the final year with Grand Prix at Vojens since its exemption from FIA and BSI regulations will expire next year. I didn't really understand what the exact issue was but it was something that required a re-construction of the arena but the city of Haderslev do not want to contribute financially so apparently it would mean that the track after 2012 no longer would be able to host Grand Prix's / SWC events. WembleyLion
Has Mallila really changed to Tuesday 28 August (3 days after Cardiff)? Although this is on the official GP website it isn't always accurate or reliable hence the reason for my question. http://www.speedwayworld.tv/event/speedwaygp-2012-malilla Edited October 16, 2011 by WembleyLion

It must be an error on SGP site as there's no way it would be scheduled for a Tuesday.
