barrow boy
I would like to suggest a slight tweak to the way match points are distributed with 4 points being available for every result not just those with away teams winning by 7 or more as follows. Home teams or away teams winning by 7+ to receive 4 points. Home teams or away teams only winning by 6 or less to receive 3 points with the remaining point being awarded to the losing team. In the event of a draw both teams to be awarded 2 points each.
lucifer sam
Absolutely no way. A team which loses at home deserves no points. All the best Rob

21st century heathen
I assume this is a joke. Perhaps there should be half a point for turning up as well?
lucifer sam
So why should a team that loses away can get a point. Regards BB Because keeping a match close away from home, in a sport where home advantage is large, deserves a reward. seedef27
I think any team that rides with r/r away from home and gets beat by 6 or less should be awarded an extra 3 points...Mind i would like copyright status on that ruling and abolish the rule when my team is back to riding with 7 riders again next year But not only would i like to see a rule where a 6 man away team who keep it close get 3 points i would also like to see fans of a 6 man away team getting thrashed get free pints
barrow boy
I assume this is a joke. Perhaps there should be half a point for turning up as well? It takes 2 teams to make a match and if one of them loses by say just one point whether it be home or away they deserve at least a point for their efforts. The away team gets one already so why not the home team as well.

The idea of a Home Team being 'rewarded' for losing seems a bit odd to me. I can, though, see where Barrow Boy is coming from.
21st century heathen
The concept of rewarding failure is odd!!
obrien48
How about - the points scored by the team are added up over the season (GP style) with say a 10pt bonus for winning the match - would mean that even if a side went into the last 3 heats knowing they can't win that at least there would be something to race for. barrow boy
I assume this is a joke. Perhaps there should be half a point for turning up as well? Why is it a joke? It's quite simple. 4 points for a win by 7+ 3 points for a win by 6- 2 points for a draw 1 point for a loss by 6- 0 point for a loss by 7+ And on this basis season 2011 would have ended up as follows. The top 4 would have still been the 4 that contested the play offs but Lakeside would have finished 3rd and King's Lynn 4th but places 5 to 8 would have all finished in a different order with Coventry slipping from 5th to 8th and interestingly Poole would only have finished 2 points in front of Eastbourne. The full list would have been as follows. 01-Poole-71 02-Eastbourne-69 03-Lakeside-60 04-King's Lynn-59 05-Peterborough-57 06-Belle Vue-54 07-Wolverhampton-53 08-Coventry-52 09-Birmingham-48 10-Swindon-37 Cheers BB

I say we go back to the bonus point for the better aggregate sore over the two home and away matches; Lions would still have finished bottom!!! Nothing to do with Leicester finishing bottom. I just think it's a fairer way.
