The Buxton Hitmen hit town, this Friday at Lakeside’s Arena Essex Track.

The table topping Hawks-how many times have we said that over the years- will be extremely confident of taking all 3 points from this home fixture after there great win at the High Edge Raceway last Sunday.

I doubt Shane will be riding(fractured finger) if not ,will we have a guest or rider replacement, with all being able to take a ride that could work for us and put some extra cash in the lads pockets..though im expecting the guest option..Does any one know? But hopefully Shane is fit to ride soon...

Shane will not be riding tommorow as he has to visit the fracture clinic tommorow for them to have another look at his finger to see what the full damage is. hopefully it wont be too bad and is aiming to be fit for the under 19's at rye.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Shane..Im sure with your determination you will be in the under 19s.GOOD LUCK TOMMORROW..

2.30pm WEATHER UPDATE:

Nice warm day here at the circuit where the George & Linda Barclay practise / training session is in full flow and it's all looking good for tonight's match for the Hawks against the Hitmen.

6.30PM FINAL WEATHER CHECK:

No problems - and prior to parade at 7.45pm two or three of those practising this afternoon will be having a skid as indeed should be Hammers newest recruit Kim Nilsson who likewise has been skidding this afternoon.

Then the table-topping Hawks will be looking to hit the Hitmen!

Apologies there where no updates on twitter for the Hawks v Buxton meeting. Full match report at www.hackneyreunion.com. My phone is a N95 8gb and I cant get twitter on there, [anyone tell me how I can?] and was only able to update via facebook. Daughter usually uploads but she was unable to attend last night! Normal service for Hawks next away match at Mildenhall will be resumed.

I have to say for a Lakeside meeting, there was some good racing. David Mason is riding probably the best his ridden in his career and was my man of the match. Ben Hopwood once again showed hes overcome his setup problems with another solid performance. Taylor and Branford where good and Allott look good when he gated for Buxton.

One whinge, why dont they play the original Magnificent Seven Music at Arena?

Once again I can say Hackney Hawks are still top of the league and hopefully can continue and make the play-offs. Will be interesting to see at what tracks the play-offs will hold the home legs?

I went along as the weather forecast for Rye v the mighty Glasgow is questionnable. I'm glad I did as it was an enjoyable match with some good racing, determination and genuine track craft. David Mason was well 'magic'! Skilfully lining up opponents to overtake, riding different lines, looking for his team mate and was the fastest rider on show. The rest of the Hackney boys did well with Ben Hopwood well worth a mention. Brandon was unfortunate to be taken out of his 4th ride when he would have faced the also learning Ryan Blackwood who looked tidy but didn't have the pace but it was probably the right decision to help ensure three league points. Ben Taylor fought all night and must be a pleasure to watch at Hi Edge every week or so. Branford too in most races. Nicki Allot was Nicki! Dean Felton tried hard for few points. I thought it was a poor crowd and the entertainment certainly deserved more. Well done both sides.

Enjoyed the trip to Lakeside, a nice little circuit, although a bit more grip for the riders would produce better racing , even an outside line would be better.I agree its dissapointing that more fans dont turn out

Interesting that i dont remember one faller all night, although i didnt see every race i dont think there was any restarted races.

Perhaps good the ref didnt need to make any decisions after his howler in heat 6 , awarding the win to the wrong rider, hopefully he just got the helmet colours wrong, is it time that speedway used transponders, certainly cant believe there not used in world class meetings.
