Shadders
Dunno if it's old age or if this was a hastily arranged meeting, but I couldn't find a thread for this afternoons Buxton vs Raiders/Cobras fixture... Anyway, great win for the Rye House junior side. I can't recall them ever winning at Buxton before... Obviously the choice of guest helped a little Edited July 10, 2011 by Shadders
Halifaxtiger
Not a bad meeting at all. Not much passing but some pretty close racing. Good to see Mr Evans has re-located his gating boots even if I managed to put the mockers on him in one race. Also good to see young Brandon Freemantle continuing where he left off on Friday. I was impressed by Ryan Blacklock, who deserved far more points than he got. Very unlucky in one race when he was second and failed to turn his fuel taps on. Ben Taylor, too, deserved more after a fighting performance. The best thing of all was the track - '100 times' better than last week according to one rider and the number of falls this week was way down. I think it was helped by the light rain that fell early on, but I really don't believe that was the sole reason for the improvement. Never pleasant to be critical, always good to see a change for the better so hats off to the Buxton promotion . Brian L
Well done Hackney. Another confidence boosting win for Brandon Freemantle as well! Edited July 11, 2011 by Brian L
Neil H
I think a big influence on the result was that Hackney didn't track their normal 1-7. The absence of Hazelden & more importantly Mason to be replaced with Paul Starke and r/r strengthened the visitors no end. I don't know what Ryan Blacklock changed for his last two rides but he made a step forward, the lad just needs track time to improve but he is getting there. Agreed 7 points for rider replacement and 10 from Starke are almost certainly more than Hazelden & Mason would have got. I, too, was impressed with Blacklock. He could start banging in a few points before the end of the season if Sunday was anything to go by.
Blazeaway
Really glad to hear the positive comments about the track. British speedway needs Buxton.
Dave Stummings
Really glad to hear the positive comments about the track. British speedway needs Buxton. Indeed so am I! John Samford and Len Silver would be there usual negative self, they always so negativ whe they travel to Buxton. Always beaton before they arrive. This year led by Barrie Evans they showed what they can do. Hazeldene hasnt had much luck and perhaps Paul Starke did score more than Shane would have, but we will never know will we the answer to that one. As for Mason's non arrival, he's ridden really well this year. He has surprised me big time this season, scoring well both at home and away and long may it continue. Maybe we did score more with R/R but again we will never know had David rode. Hawks need a bit of luck and we should have got at least a point at Dudley, even won! Top of the NL, riding well, play-off's? Well I certainly hop so

R/R scored more than his last 4 visits put together. Edited July 12, 2011 by Neil H

R/R scored more than his last 4 visits put together. David Mason is banging in big scores lately and is a different rider this season ,i would have expected him to exceed the 7 points gained from RR. purely on his gating ability which is back to something like his best...
