Hi,

Can anyone help please ?

The Speedway Star didn't have the heat details of the bonus point run-off between Edinburgh and Middlesbrough held at Edinburgh on the 7th July 1995 - does anyone have these details ?

Thanks

Hi there.

There was no run off for the bonus point !

Although the on track results ended 52-44 in favour of the respective home team, Middlesbrough's home win was changed to a 44-42 away win to the Monarchs by the SCB.

It was deemed that Shane Parker's 10 points were deducted from the Bears score as he was at the time serving a ban. The scoreline was changed before the Bears visit to Powderhall hence the reason for tno run off as the final aggregate score ended in a 96-86 win to the Monarchs.

Regards

Steve

Shane Parker was not serving a ban at the time.

Parker & Mike Faria's engines were selected for measuring at the end of the meeting, and it was subsequently found that Parker's engine was oversized.

As result of this, his points were deducted and the result was amended accordingly.

Thanks Steve & Cyclone, guess I must have missed seeing the result change.

Seems a bit strange though that they deducted Parker's points but didn't upgrade the finishing places of the other riders in the affected heats.

Cheers.

After the 1990 World Final at Bradford runner-up Shawn Moran was tested and found positive for drugs. He was stripped of his Silver medal but 3rd-placed Todd Wiltshire was not

upgrade to Runner-Up. He remains officially Third, with no Silver medal winner.

Official FIM pronouncement !
