I had planned to hire a car out of poznan to see the SWC but cant get my license here in time..I have tickets to the SWC Raceoff and Final but its the final leg of the journey that im having problems with.. Anyideas how i can sort the travel arrangements out below would be much appreciated:

Raceoff - Thursday 14th Poznan to Gorzow(leave at 1600hrs the earliest - ryanair "lands" 1530hrs) then Gorzow back to Poznan after the raceoff that night

Final - Satursday 16th Poznan to Gorzow(leave anytime) then Gorzow to Poznan that night.. (Flight departs sunday afternoon from poznan back to the UK)

Any ideas let me know

1. Taxi ? - anybody want to share the cost

2. Find a bus full of speedway fans and hitch a ride

3. Trains are on strike adn the Bus is unreliable i have been told

4. Hire a car if somebody will give it to me without a license.

5. Walk

cheers /Andrew

Is it worth double checking about this Rail strike??? As I've found their rail system good when going to GP's over there. It's not that fast compared to the UK but its bang on time and cheap. Check polrail.com. It will give you times and fares. I suspect a taxi will be in the region of 500PLN (£100+) as it cost us 350PLN from Leszno to Poznan last year after the GP and that was about 100KM and I think Gorzow is a bit further. Hope I've been a help of sorts!

BFD - your right mate , some serious lateral thinking will be needed to get me out of this jam. i cant let these VIP tickets go to waste , failure is not an option :) - c u @ the show...

What i would do in your situation would be to try and stay nearer Gorzow on thur-sat(i realise you would lose the money on the Poznan hotel)try www.booking.com some hotels available but not in Gorzow itself.

Just checked trains for thursday

Poznan 16.50 arr Gorzow 19.07

Gorzow 23,13 arr Poznan 01.30

Travel Plus are taking two coaches from Poznan to Gorzow and back on thursday and saturday. Perhaps it's worth contacting them to see if you could buy yourself a seat on one of them. Good luck!

Madison - that looks almost perfect.. ill contact them on monday - thanks again for your help.

Well that option is a no-go.. Travel Plus quote this morning "no chance"... the search continues...

The sole reason for this is that our Public Liability insurance will NOT cover us if we have a none paying/contracted client on our bus.....you will find that this is European contract law..and we simply cannot take a risk

I am currently working in Amsterdam, so can't get the sky sports feed on my laptop. Does anyone know if there is somewhere here that I can go to watch the playoff, or have any links I can use to watch it on the internet please?
