Are people starting to believe the hype yet or is Jacobs still going to be a better rider in a years time?

Little harsh. He didn't ride well today but virtually none of the riders looked comfortable on a track that Squall has correctly described as 'dangerous'(and another observer viewed as a 'sh$theap'), the number of falls and bad mistakes being considerable.

Heeps was simply superb - better than North or Poole I'd say at this stage - and he was the only one who didn't lose control at some point. I can't understand why he wasn't given 7 rides, a mistake that may cost Mildenhall dear. Mark Baseby was impressive and Hargreaves, although in considerable pain, solid.

Blackbird's exclusion in heat 11 was fully justified because he was warned to sit still but did not do so the second time. I can't help but have some sympathy for him because most referees seem to me to just let riders get away with it and while you can debate the matter forever the one thing that we must have is consistency.

Following the updates on line, I couldnt understand why he wasnt given the full quota of rides. Very unsual to see someone scoring as well as he is at reserve not being used to the fullest to replace under-performing team-mates. It certainly looks like it lead to points dropped by Mildenhall.

Seems to me that Mildenhall's top five are inconsistent performers away from home, so if they are to pick up any more away wins, Heeps will need to have seven rides per meeting while he's at reserve (which wont be for very long!).

When Blackbird got excluded for starting offences, I was pretty certain that Heeps did not come out as he was to replace the injured Hargreaves in heat 13 and was astonished when he didn't. To be honest, he should have been out in heat 10 to replace Halsey or Jacobs who were both struggling.

To be fair to those two lads (and all riders, in fact) the track was a disgrace and Squall's comments above would be echoed by almost everyone at the stadium.

So Heeps is an Australian ringer like I suggested. Fair play to Mildenhall for picking him up but I seriously wonder where his future allegiance will be.

Easy answer to that question my friend - With Ipswich Witches next season at reserve and I cant wait to see this super prospect line up in place of all mouth and no action Hart

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrr No, or he couldn't ride in the NL.

Instead of being a criticising spend some money on watching some quality and enjoy while you can - 14+2 on what appears to be a difficult track I suspect he possibly rode for the first time should tell you something?, maybe you can then sell your blinkers on Ebay.

Or maybe not, be a Brit like others of your ilk and be a whinging Pom. Why on earth would he want to show allegiance to this country with nobs like you about.

You really should get some sleep. Clearly it doesnt agree with you. I am not going to stoop to your level of abuse. You obviously didnt understand my post. I will make it simpler for you....

Heeps was born in Australia but has a British Passport

He is clearly a real talent with a great future and has produced some great scores.

He is not a 3 point reserve.

Well done to Mildenhall for securing him

I am British and proud of it.

I am passionate about the development of British riders.

I think it was the words 'Australian ringer' that Kev objected to, and I can't say I am surprised.

I also think that there are quite a few (me included)who would be interested to know just how Heeps has been cleared to ride. He may have a British passport, but he might have an Australian one as well. I do know that both the ACU and immigration authorities were involved but 'by all accounts' he is eligible for the NL despite the ban on Australian riders remaining in force.

There's no doubt he will benefit not just Mildenhall but the NL as well. My only difficulty would be is if that was at the expense of bending or twisting regulations to achieve that and given how crooked speedway can be that would come as no surprise.

Then again, as one wise and practical fan said to me yesterday, 'if I was a Mildenhall fan I couldn't care how he got clearance' (although it was put in slightly different terms)

As to your final paragraph, I think you will find that Kev is the same and would agree.

Is'nt Rob Branford an Aussie who came to Buxton last year along with Nick Morris another Aussie on a 3 point average, who both started last season at reserve.

Maybe you should read your posts before you spout your garbage, although the use of the word simple is probably close to home for you. He has a British passport that says it all.

If you are passionate as you claim try looking at the positives in life instead of always whinging, no wonder as a nation we are no longer great with the likes of you about - you certainly don't make me proud to be British.

Spot on HT, must have been a defect in contraception when that one was spawned

Sorry but I disagree with your view of Heeps. I thought he wasn't as good as the other two and had an easy afternoon. Also, he did get into trouble at times but maybe not as obviously as others. He is a talent and typical of someone that age in being somewhat carefree when he is racing. Buxton did well with signing Rob Branford and Heeps is good for Mildenhall. Like many, I expected him to come in for Blackbird and was surprised when he didn't.
