Idiots On 3rd Bend Lower Tier Cardiff

Recommended Posts

I was made to throw away my two bottles of Oranje Juice by the Security People. However - it is obviously OK to allow Alcoholic Beverages to be sold (at exhorbitant prices) so that some folk can behave in an anti social manner. I despair sometimes.

I was not at Cardiff this year - but - after reading this Thread - I will think very carefully before I go again. At the moment - I don't think I will.

True ET, I reckon there are less families with younger kiddies attending now. Perhaps, as someone has suggested on here, they should have family/oldies/pisshead-free zones. Hopefully they wont have to segregate the fans, as the Poles do bring a lot of noise and atmosphere to the event. The missus and me will be there next year, but hopefully the stadium can make a few changes, to make it a more enjoyable experience for some.

The only previous punch-up I've seen was 2 years ago, on-track, Nicholls/Sayfutdinov.

I for one (and my family) will ALWAYS attend Cardiff no matter what.....even though this trip involves the expense (on top of the GP tickets)of getting in a relief milker to milk our herd while we are away and a 3hr drive from Cork to Rosslare/3 hrs ferry crossing on frequently rough seas and then a 3 hr drive from Fishguard to Cardiff/ hotel costs on top.

You dont think some rowdy folk are gunna put me off having a ball!!!

Just hope something can be done so that this event does not turn out to be an event publicised and remembered for all the wrong reasons (fights etc).

.......emerald tyke.....

People with kids and/or ones who don't wish to be well oiled going into the stadium seem to be getting fewer and far between...

Because they are the ones who are deciding not to go any more.

Speedway seems to be secondary to having a good booze up for a lot of fans.

There was a fight near where I was stood. 3rd bend very top row after heat 12.

Big group of about 15 poles about 3 rows infront of the back row. On the back row was about 8 english guys. I think the english blokes were laughing at a pole that came last, one of the poles threw a beer at them, one of the british blokes threw one back and the poles ran up the seats and a fight broke out.

The thing that concerned me was that next to the english blokes was an elederly couple and they were right in the mix of it. The stewards didnt arrive until at least after a minute and a half. It was down to another fan who was sat in between them to try and break it up.

The stewards were a total disgrace and someone would have seen this going on if they did there job properly. Like i said it went on for about a miunute before any police turned up.

It was ok in the end but what if the elderly women had been struck, as i do not exagreate when she was about 1 seat away from the fight.

All of the poles were p!ssed out of there head and the british blokes retaliated. If it was another sporting event there was no way the poles would have been allowed into the stadium, let alone carry on being in it with more beer on the other side of the stadium. the stewards are to blame for letting them in in that state, total disgrace.

the elderly women was my mom ,and yes the poles were drunk but really apart from chanting and waving flags they well behaved ,it was constant throwing of bits and pieces for about 20 mins by the so called fans on the back row that just got worse and worse ,untill a full pint was thrown by the british fans then the poles retaliated, dont blame the poles for this incident

Speedway is a family sport, however at Cardiff it is a load of piss artists which is why we stopped going.

You shouldn't let this minority ruin you enjoyment......go to Cardiff again. (Hopefully from 2012 onwards..still awaiting news :( )

Didnt bother going this year as i personally think its getting past its sell by date...certainly dont consider it to be the be all and end all of my year....although some still do just no longer my 'bag'....as for trouble i think theres always been scuffles which is very wrong but by law of averages its going to happen....do wonder if one or two 'once a year' merchants tanked upon Brains SA doesnt really help matters....

Make that 5,001/2 tanked-up merchants. Enjoyed my 1st. Grand Prix in 2005 the most. I think it's always better when the Brits are doing well. Noisier atmosphere. Only 1 heat win this year. :(
