Bryn
Thanks 4 that Mark. There'll be 1 in the esky with your name on it mate, cheers..Oh, while im here, could anyone tell me the best route to take to get there from Sydney (im from the Central Coast), the only times I've driven down south is to Perisher. Gidday Poona  It's Ron Malm replying to you on Bryn's sign on (he's staying here this week). I think you'll remember me - I'm the big fat guy you met with Sir Lunchalot (think that's how you spell it) in the pits last week at Gosford. Remembering that this weekend is a long weekend in Sydney you should aim to be hitting Sydney sometime AM. There are 2 ways to go.  Firstly get off on the Pacific Highway at Wahroonga (turn left) go through the frustations of the lights on the Pacific Highway till you get to Chatswood and turn off onto the Warringah Expressway ultimately there are no lights from here to Mildura!). You will then go through the Sydney Harbour Tunnel (costing $3.00) then follow signage to Canberra through to the M5 to Liverpool and beyond past Campbelltown and the Hume Highway.  Secondly you can continue down the F3 past the Wahroonga turnoff (it becomes a normal road) to Pennant Hills Road. This is Ring Road 7 and continues through to the Cumberland Highway to Liverpool and connects to the Hume Highway at Lansdowne, turning right at the "Mechano Set". You don't pay a toll, but you could get stuck at lights.  Anyway, past Liverpool & Campbelltown, you get a good run down towards Canberra. Get the Yass turnoff on the Hume and go through Wagga Wagga then through Narrandera, Hay, Balranald and through to Mildura. When you cross the river turn right at the roundabout. Then turn left at the Commodore hotel (onto Deakin Avenue). Look for Eleventh Avenue (about 4 - 5 streets inwards) and turn right. Go to the end of Eleventh Avenue (or Street, or Road ... I don't remember what the street is called, but is definitely eleven). Go to the end and you've got Olympic Park Speedway. REMEMBER - BRING PLENTY OF AEROGUARD. The Sir & I will be in the stand on the end of the main straight.  Mate - if you get stuck, call me on my mobile - 0417 690 540. Watch the bloody Roos when driving at night, otherwise  See you there - safe driving.  Regards  Ron Malm
Guest Sir Lunchalot
Great timing Ron !!  I typed out a huge response and you beat me to it !! I was suggesting perhaps Cowra / West Wyalong / Hay as an alternative but your way is as good as any. The only thing you forgot to mention was that if either of you see a little bloke in a black 2004 Australian Championships shirt walking towards the speedway please stop and give him a lift  Hope your wallet will be ok after the "Family Car 0, Truck 1" mismatch of earlier in the week. Look on the bright side though, cars are easier to fix than people

poona
Another top meet, just got back after a 13 hour belt up the hume, Ryan was red hot once again, too fast !! (Lunchy, Ron or ? will post all the details). Once again it was great to meet up with a few members again. I'm sorry I didnt get to give you that beer Marty,by the way your young bloke looks the goods mate. A bloke I met at the golden river cvp said he thought he saw you there (he helps out J. Norman), If you saw a rig crashed out in the back of a red 4runner, guess who? The Mildura, Olympic park Speedway put on a fantastic spectacle for the speedway frat!!! On track- sensational, the juniors were great & the tractor grades 4 the main was like lightening. Off track, the food (so many choices) & facilities were tops. Mildura, I'll be back.... Â PS- I'm a fan of th new fomat.
Marty
Had a great night at Mildura & was good to meet up with a few Forum members.Poona, I did a couple of laps trying to find Lunchy so that I could meet up with you & Ron but couldn't find him (must have been standing behind a fold up chair ). Did manage to catch up with a few faces that I hadn't seen for years & also found the bar a couple of times . Hardest part was being back at the track at 8 am for the junior training school. Great to meet Ozyace & have a few drinks, & what happened about getting to the training school the next morning, Jonno turned up & said that you guys couldn't handle it . Hope you had a good trip home & look forward to catching up again sometime. And will catch up with you again at the U/21's Lunchy. Â Cheers Mark
