Brits Absent

I think your find sky will insist on at least one brit

Sky have no say on who should & shouldn't be in the series.

If I'm honest, I think Bombers place may go to another Aussie in Darcy Ward. If Bomber can't make the top 8 he doesn't deserve to be in the series at all

Don't bet against another nomination for Tai.

Wrong to write Bomber off, I seem to remember him been in a similar position last season and he came back. But if he does not qualify then I think that they will stick give on position to a Brit, not sure whether or not that is such a good idea or fair, but I think that they will do.

Might not be a bad thing if we don't have a full time rider in the Grand Prix, might just let the speedway authorities in this country realise how far behind we have gone in International speedway.

I agree

it was only one ride but Tai did himself a massive favour last night ...... as proper speedway fans we know that a reserve gp ride shouldnt even be considered as being significant .....but we also know that any square block will be used to get Brits into the GP's

add that to the fact that Tai has been unable to take part in the qualifying this year...... and another year of maturing will be under his belt...... and its an equation that is heading towards a wild card IMO

Just don't be suprised if there are two Brits though ....... the change in Ed Kennett this season must have put him in the frame and if he doesnt qualify as of right then a strong performance in the GP qualifying final should strengthen any case he has for a WC...........

The thing that bugs me though is something that Henryw touched on last week.... and that is that we are not putting enough riders forward for qualification....... but we are also doing it 2 years in advance.... while not accomodating injury and potentially missing form

Looking at his draw he should go through to the final IMO.

Give a 2012 place to Ben Barker

After seeing him get hammered by the Sheffield squad only this month, he of course is light years away from GP action. I still find it all a bit poor seeing a second tier rider being our second reserve at out home GP. I actually like Barker, but that's an indictment on the state of the British scene at the moment.

Woffinden, in my opinion, should get it if one is awarded. I don't think that not having a Brit at the GP's would affect the gate or the attendances though. I don't think that anyone, on present form of our riders, expects any of them to actually win another one.

Which really saddens me.

Sadly, I think Tai is the only hope Britain has of a future world champion at present, but don't be too fooled by his great performance on Saturday.

He rode a blinder and actually did well to stay on his bike when he lifted near the air fence, but he also had a blinding race last year against Pedersen and Andersen in an otherwise tepid season.

In his defence though I have to say he had a lot going on last year with losing his dad. Not just his dad but the man who has steered him to being the fastest rising Brit for many years and it must have been a real void not having him around and maybe last year was too much too soon for him.

Out of all the Brits if I was going to give one place next year it would have to be to him. Harris is the only other rider capable of mixing it at GP level but by now he should be making regular semis and challenging for the top 3 or 4 places instead of chasing qualification every year.

Tai also had massive problems with Michael Lee last year i believe which led to the 2 of them parting ways and Tai losing a big sponsorship deal with Trucks R Us half way through the season
