Shadders
Cardiff is the perfect place... Smack bang in the middle of all those bars, clubs and restaurants... Let's hope they get something sorted.
Jacques
Despite the obvious whinge on a Speedway forum that boasts 10,000 plus members, which is laughable in itself.. ... The Speedway world clearly loves the Cardiff experience and wants it to continue...40,000 + from all over the world said it on Saturday. My feet are firmly in the Cardiff camp. BSI would be committing financial suidide if they moved it for starters. Are some people that thick??? "Take it up to Manchester" I've heard. "Take it to the new stadium"..HA ha ha ha...Yeh right, that'll compete with what Crdiff offers fr sure
Ben91
Don't take it away from Cardiff, the whole weekend is a fantastic experience, the pairs on the firday, then the GP on the saturday, coupled with two drunken nights out in Cardiff, what more could you want? Paddi
Cardiff is great, but the O2 would be absolutely brilliant. With all the outside outlets, it would just be perfect. All sorts of sports have been staged within the main O2 arena: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_O2_Arena_(London) The track would be on the small size and due to the lower capacity (20,000), I imagine ticket prices would have to go up from Cardiff. But it's a state-of-the-art venue, and much newer than the Millennium Stadium. Plus it's in London. Now before everyone gets on my back, personally I'll go to the British GP whether it's in London, Cardiff, Glasgow or the Outer Hebridies. BUT to get the real publicity from the national papers, the event HAS to be in London. All the best Rob Great! Let's all go to a venue that is half the size and that will cost more! Where's the logic in that? I look forward to seeing Cardiff sold out in years to come. The Millenium stadium is an ideal venue for speedway for many, many reasons. Yes we need more publicity for the sport but lets not mess with the one really good thing that the sport has. Diesel
But it's a state-of-the-art venue, and much newer than the Millennium Stadium. Although the actual dome is only 6 months newer. The O2 isn't in the same league as the Millennium Stadium as a sporting venue.
emerald tyke
Cardiff will remain I am almost certain...only to get a contract sorted. Can't see the stadium owners wanting to lose us and us lose them either. As the saying goes "If its NOT broken, why fix it!!" I would love to see the Millennium progress to full or at least getting fuller year by year as I think its doing up to now. Maybe as a one off they could book a real well known act for the pre event entertainment and advertise well (not just inbetween skys speedway meetings!!) and maybe attract extra non-speedway supporters to it Roll on 2012

Starman2006
The O2 BV or Hampden park, some of you really need checking out, your having a real larf. As for Wembley that will never happen.
Paulco
It has to stay at Cardiff . Apart from the obvious black marks against the Millennium Stadium , over-officious stewards and £4 a pint , Cardiff is still the perfect place to spend the day after the PL Pairs . True the speedway itself is tame when compared to the Pairs , but it would be unfair on the Somerset trackstaff to have to prepare their wonderful track twice in two days . Cardiff is only an hour down the road and a convenient substitute .

It's a far superior meeting entertainment wise than the British GP .

Cardiff is all about the atmosphere , which is brilliant from early morning till late at night . The whole weekend is the highlight of any speedway fan's year . The Pairs at Somerset is fantastic , the next day you have the Cardiff experience ( if only it had a proper speedway track ) , and then if only Newport could run a league match instead of that god-awful Welsh Open - the weekend would be perfect . sadiemae
I know they did not announce the date on last nights TV coverage as they usually do but: - Can't imagine it would be Wembley due to Olympics, - No city etc within walking distance of Belle Vue - Never been to Glasgow so can't comment. I know it would be nice for Scottish fans but many of them come down for pairs meeting night before anyway. To me it seems crazy to move from Cardiff as there is plenty of accomodation, stuff to do etc. Folks can have a whole weekend of Speedway if they wish at Cardiff, Premier League Pairs at Somerset and Welsh Open at Newport before and after! Come on everyone, use your senses and strike a deal to keep it at Cardiff PLEASE!!!!!!
jellyman
see if i can go next year then, its like you say, cardiff is about the atmosphere as much as anything You've hit the nail on the head there. The problem we have in this country is that we are starved of atmosphere when it comes to our league speedway. This a picture I took at an Ekstraliga meeting last year and I can assure you that the atmosphere was every bit as electric as that at Cardiff. I think the only reason that we put Cardiff on such a pedestal in this country is because it's the best we currently have by a long way. I don't think it necessarily follows that if the GP is moved to a purpose built outdoor stadium with only half as many seats that the event will be any less spectacular. Although my preference would be to retain Cardiff and have a 2nd GP in Manchester.

jellyman
lets be honest, they have three in poland, why not give britain another gp? I think the blunt answer is that none of our current speedway stadiums are good enough. Not when compared to those in Poland. However, with the National Stadium that's going to change and we'd actually be in a position to make a good case for a 2nd GP.
