ELITSERIEN ROUND 8

Tuesday June 21st 2011

LEJONEN - ELIT VETLANDA

at NTEX Arena, Gislaved

After being demolished at Indianerna last week, Lejonen returns home in a re-match of last season's Play Off finals. The reserves from the Indianerna meeting, Sebastian Aldén and Oliver Berntzon, have been replaced with Troy Batchelor and Mikael Max, the latter being available after missing last week due to injury. However, the rolling average dictates that Dennis Andersson drops to reserve, alongside Batchelor.

Reigning champions, and last placed, Elit Vetlanda didn't ride last week, but has still improved since the last meeting. Jacob Thorssel has recovered from his grandular fever, and takes the junior position. Patrick Hougaard is still out, so the possible line-up of Smolinski/Hougaard instead of PK/Hlib wasn't an option this time around. The form of Janusz Kolodziej is also improving for the 2010 champions.

DACKARNA - PIRATERNA

at G&B Arena, Målilla

Despite winning a last heat decider in last week's derby at Västervik, Dackarna makes several changes. Three riders enters the line-up, with all of them making their season debuts. Hans Andersen replace the R/R facility for Jurica Pavlic, with Daniel King replacing Tomasz Chrzanowski and Joel Larsson taking the junior spot instead of Anders Mellgren. King/Larsson are the partnership at reserve with Mroczka taking a top five position, all in regards to the rolling average.

The Pirates of Motala had two meetings last week, scoring a win and a tie for three points. The line-up that scored a 45-45 tie at Valsarna gets the nod, meaning Jesper B Monberg instead of Daniel Davidsson (who rode the Wednesday fixture against Vargarna instead of the Dane) alongside Linus Sundström at reserve. Also, R/R is still being in use for Rafal Dobrucki.

HAMMARBY - VALSARNA

at Gubbängens IP, Stockholm

Capital outfit Hammarby had to ride without Tomasz Gollob last week, but can welcome him back for this fixture, replacing Simon Stead who only scored 2 paid 4 at reserve against Vargarna. Coming from an away to a home meeting means several changes to the riding order, with only Alexander Edberg wearing the same race jackets as in Norrköping.

Third placed Valsarna had a draw against Piraterna last Tuesday, but manager Jerker Eriksson have opted for a couple of changes. Ludvig Lindgren is back at the junior position, replacing Victor Palovaara, and Scott Nicholls takes the number three race jacket from Krzysztof Buczkowski. Despite a paid twelve haul at reserve last week, the rolling average still keeps Tomasz Gapinski at reserve.

INDIANERNA - VARGARNA

at ICA-Maxi Arena, Kumla

Table topping Indianerna took a crushing win against Lejonen last week so obviously don't see the need for any riders to be replaced, rightly so. The seven riders are the same, but the rolling average has put Joonas Kylmäkorpi at reserve with Ryan Sullivan taking a place in the main body of the team. Several changes are still made to the riding order, with only Bjarne Pedersen and Piotr Protasiewicz riding with the same race jacket as last week, despite coming from one home meeting to another.

The Wolves of Norrköping faces a strong challenge against Indianerna, and have opted for the top heavy version of their line-up, including all top four riders as Krzysztof Kasprzak replaces fellow countrymen Adam Skornicki. To fit under the maximum average limit, André Hertzberg replaces Eric Andersson to form an all junior reserve pairing with Kim Nilsson. Tai Woffinden, who had a massive 24 paid 28 in 12 heats last week, takes a second string position.

Indianerna (home)

1. Antonio Lindbäck

2. Bjarne Pedersen

3. Piotr Protasiewicz

4. Niels-Kristian Iversen

5. Ryan Sullivan

6. Simon Gustafsson

7. Joonas Kylmäkorpi

good work as usual anders. also if i'm not mistsken, charno was brought in as a replacement for Hans which should mean that tc is.no longer available for dackarna.

Yes, I thought so as well but was surprised to see him in Dackarna's squad on SVEMO's website. It's Jurica Pavlic that's not in the squad, accoring to svemo.se. Don't know if a mistake has been made, or what the deal is...

Any reason that you know of why Chris Holder is once again not riding for Lejonen ?

Don't know. Lejonen's own website just mention that he won't be in the line-up. No reasons given.

hmm don't know either. The rule says that the replacing rider must not be listed in any teams squad during the actual season.

SO the question (as usual with Svemos rules) is how to interpret that.

Not sure who the commentator is on Premier Sports but he still thinks Dobrucki might be coming out to ride even though someone has pointed out to him on twitter that he has retired... - on the other hand at least he understands team riding is taking place. Bring back the commentator from last week!!

Bring back the commentator from last week!!

Aww that's too much to ask, he's still on his honeymoon!

Very good team riding, particularly in Heat 7 when the opposition pre-race might have expected an advantage or shared heat.
