Where is the best place to park. Will the railway station be a good option

Cheers

Good luck with this one mate. The Park and Ride signs for the speedway started about 20 miles away from the venue, as soon as you approach Cardiff... they'll vanish and you're left for dead. Set off early to make good time for this one.

Got into the centre and not a million miles from the stadium... pulled over a city centre 'official' near a shopping centre, asked him about speedway parking, and he didn't even know there was speedway on!!

The alleged 'park and ride' we found was full for cars... and there were loads of spaces there looking at it. Nightmare with knobs on.

Get there early, and wing it. Best advice I can give.

If you get there early theres plenty of parking near castle . I usually park in the University / college car parks, you`ll see them as you near the stadium but are not cheap £7 or £8 . ( Near Police station )

I have used www.stadiumcarparks.co.uk for the last three years. A bit expensive at £15+vat but you pre book a space and it is 10mins walk from the stadium

Have had no problems getting out after the Gp

We've had good experiences with the park and ride, always found it easy to get to with the signs and been able to park quite easily, we usually arrive at around 1pm ish. Suppose there will be cheaper options within walking distance of the stadium rather than relying on a bus but it's been very handy for us in the last 3 years.

There is a massive Park & Ride on the way into Cardiff just off the A48. Here is the info on Cardiff Council's website. It is signposted right up to it (permanent signs, not electronic ones). We use this whenever we go into Cardiff (except GP weekend, but that is so we can have a drink).

Official Cardiff Council Press Release -

Travel Advice for the SPEEDWAY

This Saturday, (June 25th), the world's 15 best speedway riders descend on the Millennium Stadium for round five of the World Championship FIM Speedway Grand Prix series.

A crowd of 40,000 is expected to attend the event which starts at 5pm.

The best way to travel to the event is by public transport and coach wherever possible. Those bringing their cars into the city can ease worries over congestion and parking costs by using the Council's park and ride services.

There are two park and ride sites, one at the International Sports Village (Blue car park, post code CF11 0JS) and at County Hall (Green car park , post code CF10 4UW). Both sites can be accessed from J33 of the M4. Signs should be followed from M4 as they will direct drivers to available park and ride sites at time of arrival

The service costs £10 per car. Please follow the road signs from the M4.

The drop off points and collection points are - International Sports Village - Tresillian Way north, at rear of Railway Station, County Hall - Callaghan Square north, in lay-by by Eversheds.

Both car parks will have a staff presence from 8:30am and will open at 9:00am. The first bus will leave at 9:00am. The last bus will leave the pick-up points at 10:30pm, with the car parks closing at 11pm.

Coach parking will also be provided at the bus park, just off Sophia Close .There are dedicated coach parking areas with driver facilities. The cost per coach is £10.00.

Road closures in place for the concerts are as follows -

Small road closures will be in place from 3pm until 9.30pm along Westgate Street, Park Street and Havelock Street.

From 2.30pm until 9.30pm, closure of Station Approach and Central Square, except to buses using the bus station.
