Anders
ELITSERIEN ROUND 7 Tuesday June 14th 2011 VÄSTERVIK - DACKARNA at Stena Arena, Västervik Upon this local derby, Västervik have opted for the same seven riders who lost in Stockholm last week. Rafal Okoniewski takes a second straight meeting instead of injured Aussie Adam Shields, and Okoniewski looks to be in good form after posting 15 points for Rzeszow on Sunday in Poland. However, the Pole moves to second string position with Nicolai Klindt dropping to reserve. After surprisingly losing at home to Valsarna two weeks ago, Dackarna had a week off in round 6 last Tuesday. From that meeting, the management have nominated their strongest possible line-up, to include Tomasz Chrzanowski and Artur Mroczka instead of Ricky Kling and Robin Aspegren who scored 5 points between them against Valsarna. Also, Jurica Pavlic still has the second highest rolling average, so count on R/R to be in use. Västervik (home) 1. Sebastian Ulamek 2. Tomasz Jedrzejak 3. Chris Harris 4. Rafal Okoniewski 5. Peter Ljung 6. Pontus Aspgren 7. Nicolai Klindt Dackarna (away) 1. Andreas Jonsson 2. Tomasz Chrzanowski 3. Fredrik Lindgren 4. Jurica Pavlic 5. Rune Holta 6. Anders Mellgren 7. Artur Mroczka *-*-* VALSARNA - PIRATERNA at Tallhults Motorstadion, Hagfors After scoring surprising wins on the road, at Dackarna and Lejonen, Valsarna now returns home to try and defend their top four status. Team manager Jerker Eriksson has left the main body of the team intact, but instead of the reserve pairing of Ludvig Lindgren and Scott Nicholls, Tomasz Gapinski is back in the line-up with Victor Palovaara making his season debut instead of Lindgren at the junior position. The Pirates got last week's meeting postponed, so they haven't been in action since the 24th of May! In comparison with that line-up, a crushing home victory to Västervik, only a small change is done as Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Maciej Janowski swaps race jackets between them. Valsarna (home) 1. Grigory Laguta 2. Artem Laguta 3. Krzysztof Buczkowski 4. Dave Watt 5. Daniel Nermark 6. Victor Palovaara 7. Tomasz Gapinski Piraterna (away) 1. Przemyslaw Pawlicki 2. Rafal Dobrucki R/R 3. Greg Hancock 4. Maciej Janowski 5. Jonas Davidsson 6. Jesper B Monberg 7. Linus Sundström *-*-* VARGARNA - HAMMARBY at ICA-Maxi Arena, Norrköping The Wolves had their meeting at Piraterna falling victim to the rain last Tuesday, so they haven't been in action since the meeting against Elit Vetlanda two weeks ago, which was abandoned with two heats to go (I'll leave it at that). Despite crashing heavily in Poland, Lee Richardson has been nominated in the line-up, but I guess a guestionmark is in order for Lee's status. Krzysztof Kasprzak isn't in the line-up, but would fit as a direct replacement for Richardson. Guess we'll have to await more news from Norrköping. Hammarby won last week against Västervik, but will face a tougher time on Tuesday as they travel to Norrköping, without Tomasz Gollob. The Pole had an agreement made before the season started to miss this fixture according to Norrköping newspaper Folkbladet. Therefore, Andrej Karpov moves to the main body of the team and Simon Stead makes another appearence at reserve. Vargarna (home) 1. Lee Richardson 2. Kim Nilsson 3. Adrian Miedzinski 4. Adam Skornicki 5. Nicki Pedersen 6. Tai Woffinden 7. Eric Andersson Hammarby (away) 1. Magnus Zetterström 2. Andrej Karpov 3. Robert Kosciecha 4. Grzegorz Walasek 5. Rory Schlein 6. Simon Stead 7. Alexander Edberg *-*-* INDIANERNA - LEJONEN at ICA-Maxi Arena, Kumla Leading leading Indianerna takes on Lejonen in this week's TV fixture, and they do it with the same line-up who won in Vetlanda last Tuesday. Despite a 13 point haul at number seven, Ryan Sullivan stays at reserve by a slim margin to Piotr Protasiewicz who is fifth in the list of rolling averages, and may be the next one at reserve, if Sullivan has another good meeting at the bottom two. After being smashed by Valsarna at home, 35-55, the management of Lejonen have opted for some changes to the line-up. Both Piotr Swiderski and Mikael Max miss their first meeting of the season, while the Lions welcome back Leon Madsen into the team, a former Indianerna rider. Also, Kenneth Bjerre makes his season debut for the Gislaved outfit and Dennis Andersson drops to reserve instead of David Ruud who rides at number five. Indianerna (home) 1. Niels-Kristian Iversen 2. Bjarne Pedersen 3. Piotr Protasiewicz 4. Joonas Kylmäkorpi 5. Antonio Lindbäck 6. Ryan Sullivan 7. Simon Gustafsson Lejonen (away) 1. Kenneth Bjerre 2. Leon Madsen 3. Darcy Ward 4. Chris Holder 5. David Ruud 6. Sebastian Aldén 7. Dennis Andersson *-*-* CURRENT STANDING: 1. Indianerna, 6, 5-0-1, 10p (+56) 2. Hammarby, 5, 3-0-2, 6p (+4) 3. Valsarna, 5, 3-0-2, 6p (-4) 4. Lejonen, 5, 3-0-2, 6p (-12) --------------------------------------------------- 5. Västervik, 6, 3-0-3, 6p (-20) 6. Piraterna, 4, 2-0-2, 4p (+10) 7. Vargarna, 4, 2-0-2, 4p (-23) 8. Dackarna, 5, 1-0-4, 2p (-4) --------------------------------------------------- 9. Elit Vetlanda, 6, 1-0-5, 2p (-7) BTW, last week's postponed meeting between Piraterna and Vargarna will be held this Wednesday, the 15th of June. *-*-* Tuesday's TV meeting is the one from Kumla; Indianerna vs Lejonen. Other than that, all meetings should be covered by live updates on the federation website; www.svemo.se/speedway, starting at 19:00 local time. Enjoy! Had a quick edit, but I hope no one saw the wrong part (which I edited). Edited June 12, 2011 by Anders
Ghostwalker
a few Interesting meetings this week. I think Dackarnas problem is that they try to squeeze to many heat leaders as they can into the team but its not a good way to build your team. It wil make the team to top heavy and also it can cause bad spirits in the team. So i hope (and think) that Västervik might win another meeting at home. However Tomasz Chrzanowski is an ex Västervik rider and i think he might do quite well. I the end i say 56-44 i favor of Västervik. Also its a bit surprising that Dackarna won't even try Daniel K, especially at home since the track should suite his style and he did a very good first meeting on that track even if its 3 years ago. Valsarna vs. Piraterna Another good meeting but also another meeting with R/R for an long time injured rider. Anyway Valsarna have surprised many with their start of the season and i think that they wll be able to take their third straight win. And i hope they do to. SO go Valsarna and go Jerker (an ex-smederna team manager). Vargarna vs. Hammarby, I think Vargarna will show that they are difficult to beat on home soil. Hammarby without Gollob should not cause problems for Vargarna. But you'll never know. Indianerna vs. Lejonen. Its time for Lejonen to show that they want to make it to the playoffs since they cant use their old tactic with taking it easy in the series and then step up for the playoffs. However i don't think that Lejonen will be able to defeat Indianerna since they are showing a very good form this year. For Lejonen Madsen in is not a that big surprise since he is an ex Indianerna rider. Anyway despite that Bjerre makes his first ride of the season Indianerna is a bit too strong for Lejonen. Again i think its cheating (even if its not against the rules atm) that Dackarna still can use R/R for Pavlic and that Piraterna can use R/R for Dobrucki which they have done in every meeting since RD got injured. So for next season Svemo needs to change the rules so that R/R only can be used for a maximum of two meetings and that the injured rider needs to have ridden at least 4 meetings and 16 heats and R/R should be decided by season starting average and not rolling average, Finally good work Anders! It was nice to be "Off the hook" this week.
brandonbee48
Dear Anders and Ghostwalker. You two guys are terrific. You keep us fully informed about Swedish speedway and your postings are so sensible. You wouldn't last 2 minutes in the Elite section, where they devour everyone Join you both tomorrow for my weekly view of a Swedish sunset. Thanks again. Alan. Anders
SO go Valsarna and go Jerker (an ex-smederna team manager). Agree. Go Jerker! I'm so chuffed for him, and his results with Valsarna so far. Vargarna vs. Hammarby, I think Vargarna will show that they are difficult to beat on home soil. Hammarby without Gollob should not cause problems for Vargarna. But you'll never know. You'll never know, these days, that's the key words. Elitserien 2011 have provided upset after upset, so it's hard to predict most meetings nowadays. However, they should not cause problems. Finally good work Anders! It was nice to be "Off the hook" this week. No problems! You do a great job in the off season when I'm involved in my local icehockey team, and really can't stand to write about speedway TBH, so that's well deserved. And you know, I got next week as well. Anders
INDIANERNA - LEJONEN at ICA-Maxi Arena, Kumla Lejonen (away) 4. Chris Holder Dennis Andersson 7. Dennis Andersson Oliver Berntzon According to the local newspaper in the Gislaved region, Chris Holder won't be riding tonight. Dennis Andersson will step up to number 4, with junior Oliver Berntzon filling the number 7 spot.

brandonbee48
Well said Alan - I always look forward to Tuesday and can't wait for my next trip back to Sweden following my recent visit to Norrkoping, Eskilstuna and Nykoping. Tuesday at 1pm (here in the USA) is sectioned off on the calendar with "Do not Disturb". When i read some of the biased and occasionally downright nasty comments in the Elite section, it is so refreshing to have these two great guides to the Swedish scene and civilised interaction on the board during meetings. May it be ever thus Join you in a few hours. Regards. Alan.
gmuncie
Is there a website that has a complete breakdown of all current rolling averages for the elitsieran? Or can anyone tell me who can take r/r rides for Pavlic or dombrucki? Will be useful info before I have my little wager on tonight's proceedings. Anders
Or can anyone tell me who can take r/r rides for Pavlic or dombrucki? R/R can only be used for the top two in rolling average, among those riders who are in the line-up for the actual meeting. So whenever R/R is in use, all the other riders in the main body of the team can take an extra ride.
Ghostwalker
Is there a website that has a complete breakdown of all current rolling averages for the elitsieran? Or can anyone tell me who can take r/r rides for Pavlic or dombrucki? Will be useful info before I have my little wager on tonight's proceedings. averages can be found here; http://www.svemo.se/.../Aktuellasnitt/ but in Sweden any rider can be used for R/R no matter their average. the entire ruke can be found here: http://svemo.mediapaper.nu/rundbana/ enter page 32 and press enter. see rule 5.10.4 5.10.4 "Rider ReplacementErsättare för frånvarande förare i dennes schemalagda heat är tillåtet enligt nedanstående förutsättningar, se även SR 5.21.13 samt tilläggsregler." Replacement for missing rider in his/hers scheduled heats are allowed according to the conditions below, also see rule 5.21.13 as well as the amendment rules. Rider Replacement får utnyttjas för en förare per lag och tävlingstillfälle. Den ersatteföraren skall tillhöra lagets bästa förare och respektive series tilläggsregler, TR bestämmer inför varje säsong antalet förare som kan ersättas. R/R can be used for one rider/meeting. The replaced rider have to belong to the best riders in the team (= the two riders with highest rolling averages) and each series amendment rules decides before each season the amount of riders that can be replaced. regarding rule 5.21.13 its quite interesting that they refer to a rule which does not exist in the rule book. the last of the 5.21.* rules are 5.21.12 and the next rule after that is 6.1 good work Svemo! R/R may be used for one the two best riders in the team. The two best riders means the two riders in the lineup that on the day of registration of the lineup have reached the highest rolling average according to the official list of averages. ............ Weather wise we've had a little rain but not more then just barely enough to make the tracks more then a bit moisty, Unfortunately for Alan, he won't see his beloved sunset. brandonbee48
You're on 24 hour daylight in June aren't you in "The land of the midnight sun" ? Here in Pennsylvania there is a rumour floating of a sighting of a yellow ball in the sky, but scorn is being poured on that idea. I know why the early English and Welsh settlers felt so at home here. Coal mines, sheep and rain! "Weather wise we've had a little rain but not more then just barely enough to make the tracks more then a bit moisty, Unfortunately for Alan, he won't see his beloved sunset." Great news that there is unlikely to be a rain-off tonight. Looking forward as always. Kindest regards. Alan.
