spin king
Well the British Final has come and gone, and one of the biggest talking points has been the the wild card picks for the meeting. I wonder if the BSPA or the Super 7 organisers might consider this idea, have the Semi Finals with the top 7 from both the semi's. Then let riders who have not qualified either through not scoring enough points of due injury, apply for one of the wildcard entries, and ten have an internet vote to choose the the entries, in other words let the fans choose the riders. ImpartialOne
Even better, just have the top 8 from each semi. If you're injured, do what Carter did and take a wheelchair in the van.
brewer
top 8 in country on averages seeded straight into final, next 16 into a semi top 8 qualify to meet the rest (alt, 2x semis with top 4 from each going through) or top 4 seeded, + 2 semis with top 6 from each
TrueBee
The top six from the previous years final should be seeded. If you're injured it's just hard luck and you qualify the next year.

TrueBee
dont agree with , from previous year, long gap anything can happen, But you suggested top averages, which is their last 28 meetings, this will include meetings from the previous year. Seems that everyone has missed the point of your original post re a public vote for the wildcards. Firstly, it's not my cup of tea at all. However, public interaction via mobile phone could be massive for the sport. This is why X Factor etc is so popular. Without interaction it'd just be Opportunity Knocks. I'm not aware of any sport which has managed to incorporate the idea thus far but it would have the potential to attract new supporters and telecomms sponsorship. Imagine being able to vote for the riders in heat 15 in a sky match? As I say not my cup of tea but the idea is worth consideration...... SCB
Top 8 from each of the semis. If you're not fit, tough rubbish. What fit you're not fit for the final? You miss out, so it should be the same with the semis. Lifes a bitch sometimes.

Authorised
Various sports in USA pick "Dream Teams" for end of season finale events such as MLS or NBA. They have pulled back in recent years from this as rumours of fixing went on.... If a rider is unpopular, but in the top 10 of averages and is unlucky to be in a ballot system, it would obviously be bad for the sport. If you want interaction, maybe for top individual events getting back to being top events!!! ELRC for example, but even events such as Pride of the East used to be top line ups. Maybe experiment on these before touching career defining events like British Finals which of course is a gateway to GPs. I am of the opinion it should be two Semi-Finals, top 8 from each go into this. I would also have 4 British Quarter Finals where 4 riders each qualifer to join 16 riders seeded to semi-finals. That will ensure their are 80 starting places to decide the British Championship and allow almost all Brits in League Racing places. Like the 1980s!!!!!!!
