Diceyccfc1966
Doolan was class today , not sure why he ain't pulling up trees with Ipswich ? The Newport riders had so so meetings. Generally not great conditions for speedway thou, the old blue line came back today.
speedwaylover18
Well done to the newport boys for their efforts and good on justin for making it back from Poland in time for this meeting, these riders are very busy people! Mustve been roasting for the riders/fans today, makes a change to have sun though. Have to say well done to Ilya Bondarenko he was a dark horse not many people mentioned him being in the top 3 and seems to like newport
firesam
I dont think much of the match format. Doolan was head and shoulder above all the other riders, and yet Fisher wins the title Don't think he was head and shoulders above all the other riders, he just had a fifteen pointer but you do a great disservice to some of the others. stevenl049
Superb from Fisher. Well done sir! Doolan really unlucky but blew it himself. What the hell was he doing at the tapes? Spun himself a groove, turned the bike round, spun again turned round the right way, dug deeper then struggled to get out of it. Seen it coming but I know what he was trying to do, just dug too deep. Track was a gaters paradise but not much can be done in that heat. It looked superb when I pitched up at half 11 ish.
stevebrum
Well done to Tyson and a win over Lanham and 7 points.
lionheart
Don't think he was head and shoulders above all the other riders, he just had a fifteen pointer but you do a great disservice to some of the others. So you don't think a five ride max of 15 against the nearest challenger with 11 points, is head and shoulders above the field
Pinny
So you don't think a five ride max of 15 against the nearest challenger with 11 points, is head and shoulders above the field If he was head and shoulders above the rest, he'd of won the meeting. He didnt.
WIE-JA
If he was head and shoulders above the rest, he'd of won the meeting. He didnt. For a change Wanna, I am going to agree with you. 5 qualifying rides, sudden death final.
Pinny
For a change Wanna, I am going to agree with you. 5 qualifying rides, sudden death final. There is no consistency in meeting formats across the sport though which is a nuisance. I think the GP format is spot on. If a 16 rider line up, have the top 8 to two semis and then the top 2 from each semi into final. 1 engine failure can cost you a rostrum place if the top scorer format is used. BongoBrian
Thank you to all my waspy Newport friends, I had a great afternoon with ya all Well done to the Fish... as I said to him after the meeting, 3rd time lucky at the Taffy Open and wholly well deserved, but great to see Kevin Dooly have a good return and glad Wee Morris didn't corrupt his collar bone with the pretty hefty fall in his 3rd outing. All in all, it was fantastic sunshine... very good racing... a much MUCH improved track as far as the dust (in comparison to last year) goes! Well done Newport Wasps for putting on a superb event which was the perfect end to a great weekend! One last thing, I had a ball with my Edinburgh collegues and was a pleasure to meet my Coventry Bee friend too! ...I just hope I can get up at 5am now and get my flight back to Glasgae
Diesel
glad Wee Morris didn't corrupt his collar bone with the pretty hefty fall in his 3rd outing. It was a very heavy fall. I think Morris did superbly considering he was riding a NL reserves bike and had to borrow all of his gear for the afternoon.
Bandits4life
Couple of good races otherwise gate and go and pretty boring to be honest. It's been decided that I'm driving next year so I can avoid the welsh open and go and see the Bandits (whether seedef likes it or not! ) . Was a pleasure to meet BigfatDave though . The guy looks like a star in the making.

I think Morris did superbly considering he was riding a NL reserves bike and had to borrow all of his gear for the afternoon. I think he was on sweetman's spare bike, Todd kurtz leathers and helmet. his first two races were excellent although he did start to make mistakes and threw points away. Pretty good showing considering.

Pretty good showing considering. He was and a big thank you to him for quickly agreeing to do it as he arrived at Newport and I pounced on him to put in the request and giving him 5 minutes to sort out what he was using!!...maximum respect to him for this from me
