Elitserien Round 6

Recommended Posts

Elitserien Round 6, Tuesday June 7th

All meetings start at 19.00 Swedish time.

Elit Vetlanda - Indianerna , Vetlanda Motorstadion.

Elit Vetlanda

  1. Janusz Kolodziej (PL)
  2. Thomas h Jonasson (SE)
  3. Jaroslaw Hampel (PL)
  4. Peter Karlsson (SE)
  5. Jason Crump (AU)
  6. Pawel Hlib
  7. Henric Lindqvist (SE)

Indianerna

  1. Piotr Protasiewicz (PL)
  2. Joonas Kylmäkorpi (FI)
  3. Bjarne Pedersen (DK)
  4. Niels-kristian Iversen (DK)
  5. Antonio Lindbäck (SE)
  6. Simon Gustafsson (SE)
  7. Ryan Sullivan (AU)

Before the season started everyone would have expected this to be a top meeting, however Elit Vetlanda have had huge problems this year and they

are currently parked at last place  with only 1 victory in the first five rounds and even though they are only 2 points away from 4th place .

Again the reserves are Vetlanda's week point with Hlib and Lindqvist. Unfortunately for Vetlanda they don't have any o

ther riders to go with if they wants to stay under the cap. I also understand that Vetlanda intends replace

Balinski but there are most likely not much choice on riders to sign.

Just read Vetlandas team managers comment on Vetlandas website and for some (covering up?) reason

the team he mentions and the one registered are different.

Indianerna on the other hand is so far keeping the steam up, they were expected to do well and so far they have done well.

Especially Antonio have been riding very well and i hope that both he and Indianerna will continue to do well. I think if Indianerna

wants to win this meeting they both needs to have their best gating boots and and especially Simon and Ryan needs to raise their level quite a bit

but i do think that Indianerna have a very good chance of winning this.

Hammarby - Västervik, Gubbängens IP

Hammarby

  1. Grzegorz Walasek (PL)
  2. Robert Kosiecha (PL)
  3. Tomasz Gollob (PL)
  4. Rory Schlein (AU)
  5. Magnus Zetterström (SE)
  6. Andrej Karpov
  7. Alexander Edberg (SE)

Västervik

  1. Sebastian Ulamek (PL)
  2. Tomasz Jedrzejak (PL)
  3. Chris Harris (GB)
  4. Nikolai Klindt (DK)
  5. Peter Ljung (SE)
  6. Pontus Aspgren (SE)
  7. Rafal Okoniewski (PL)

Hammarby have their 3rd home meeting in 4 weeks and they shouldn't not have any problems at home with defeating Västervik.

Hammarby have won their two previous home meetings but have lost their away meetings. Like Vetlanda's track Gubbängen have this season

most been about who gates first is also the first to finish. Västervik will have to manage without Adam Shields who are injured.

Rafal Okoniewski will step in at reserve as a replacement for Shields.

Also its notable that Hammarby have "demoted" Golloob from nr 5 to nr 3. Possible because Gollobs scoring have been mediocre

with an average score of 7,5/meeting.

Lejonen - Valsarna, NTEX Arena.

Lejonen

  1. Piotr Swiderski (PL)
  2. Dennis Andersson (SE)
  3. Chris Holder (AU)
  4. Darcy Ward (AU)
  5. Mikael Max (SE)
  6. Sebastian Aldén (SE)
  7. David Ruud (SE)

Valsarna

  1. Grigorij Laguta (RU)
  2. Artem Laguta (LV)
  3. Krzysztof Buczkowski
  4. David Watt (AU)
  5. Daniel Nermark (SE)
  6. Ludvig Lindgren (SE)
  7. Scott Nicholls (GB)

Lejonen are still undefeated at home and even if Valsarna made a very good performance last week when they won away against Dackarna

i think Valsarna will struggle against Lejonen. Buczek switches position with Nicholls. Other changes for Valsarna is that

Nermark is moved up to nr 1 and Grigorij Laguta is moved to nr 5.

Piraterna-Vargarna, Biltema Arena Televised meeting.

Piraterna

  1. Maciej Janowski (PL)
  2. Rafal Dobrucki (PL) R/R
  3. Jonas Davidsson (SE)
  4. Przemyslaw Pawlicki (PL)
  5. Greg Hancock (US)
  6. Daniel Davidsson (SE)
  7. Linus Sundström (SE)

Vargarna:

  1. Lee Richardson (GB)
  2. Michael Jepsen jensen (DK)
  3. Nicki Pedersen (DK)
  4. Kim Nilsson (SE)
  5. Krzystof Kasprazak (PL)
  6. Adam Skornicki (PL)
  7. André Hertzberg (SE)

Piraterna is 4th with 2 victories and two losses and the same goes for Vargarna who currently are 6th.

This is the televised meeting and i think C+ made the correct decision when they chose this meeting as the TV meeting, since this could

be a tight meeting with very good racing since the track usually can provide pretty good racing.

Piraterna continues to use R/R for Dobrucki as its more favourable then to use another rider.

Vargarna have by tradition had hard times at Piraterna's track and I don't think Vargarna will manage a win this time either since

I think Piraterna really can benefit from the R/R and get extra heats for their 4 best riders.

I also think that Piraterna's reserves are bit stronger combined then Vargarna's ditto which could be the decisive factor.

Also interesting to see that Miedzinski & tai are out in favour of Jepsen Jensen & Skora. Also interesting to see that Michal Szczepaniak

who have done good so far for Vargarna and also previously have ridden for Piraterna are left outside the team.

I'm guessing Vastervik see it as a blessing in disguise that Adam isn't riding, and Nicolai will need to prove himself too. Gollob's been deflated since the first GP and isn't scoring consistently anywhere. Could be due to the silencers? And Protasiewicz hasn't been having a good year either.

Good to see Rico out of the reserve position, but now Nicholls finds himself down there. I wonder if there's a single rider this season who is doing well across all the leagues...

some general comments/opinions is that the rules needs to be changed for both R/R, for the calculation of floating averages and

eligibility for riding at reserve needs to be changed.

I think its way wrong that a team can use R/R for the same rider, week after week after week. it should be maximum two rounds

per injury period. I also dislike the way that the alternating average is calculated as it gives to large variations from one round to the next.

This also means that reserves can get a very high floating average which means that R/R can be used for them.

This is resulting in that riders like, NIcholls, Sullivan, Ruud, Skornicki and similar riders can ride at the reserve in Elitserien which feels quite wrong.

Wow! sincerest thanks Ghostwalker for an early write-up on these matches.

I usually have quite a celebratory weekend, yep even when nothing in particular to celebrate. So that by the time i have caught up with and fulfilled obligations it leaves me with little time to read up on previous match reports and previews of the weeks fixtures. So it's very much appreciated when you give insights.

Incidentally, how likely is the football European Championship qualifier between Sweden and Finland likely to affect the attendance of the live broadcasted match?. I'll actually be watching it at the same time as the speedway despite not being Swedish or Finnish because it seems an interesting fixture and is available on a satellite channel over here.

I'm running that through Google translate to see if it matches my definition. :P

Ghostie do you have a link to the league table please? I'm very surprised Lejonen are unbeaten at home given Swidders' results. I'm wondering if they're regretting letting Nicki go.

Just read Vetlandas team managers comment on Vetlandas website and for some (covering up?) reason the team he mentions and the one registered are different.

The preview on Elit Vetlanda's website was written earlier on Sunday, but when it was time to register the line-up officially at 21:00 hours, the management had changed the mind, to ride Thomas H Jonasson at number 2 and Peter Karlsson at number 4 instead.

Good to see Rico out of the reserve position, but now Nicholls finds himself down there.

Nicholls was in and out of reserve berth last season, so it's no surprise he's back there IMO. He's not, and has never been, the rider he is in Britain. However, he should be able to hold down a second string position, he really should...

Incidentally, how likely is the football European Championship qualifier between Sweden and Finland likely to affect the attendance of the live broadcasted match?

That will be a major factor for all meetings in this round, I think. Sure, it's only a qualifer, but in combination with dodgy weather forecasts for Motala (Piraterna), Gislaved (Lejonen) and Vetlanda (Elit Vetlanda), I predict it will be a really bad round for attendences in general.

Ghostie do you have a link to the league table please?

Thanks Anders. I don't think anyone would have predicted that order at the start of the season!

Nope, it's a surprise all right. However, even though I'm not overjoyed as an Elit Vetlanda fan, it's good for the sport when the "lesser" teams starts the season well. Gives the entire league a bit of surprise factor. That said, still, I really would like a win tomorrow. :approve:

Well what to say? Vetlanda lost again and are firmly anchored at the bottom of the table after a narrow defeat by Indianerna, Obvioulsy Indianerna rode well but what the heck is wrong with Crump? Only 4p tonoght, anyone know if he have injury probnlems or etc?

PK only managed 2p from three rides so perhaps replace him with Vaculik in the next meeting?

Valsarna won another away meeting after a crushing victory away against Lejonen and one could also speculate about the reason for the sudden dip in performance from Lejonen. They hardly lost a meeting

at home since they returned to Elitserien. Then suddenly they loose to Valsarna? Is it reality that is starting to catch up on them?

Atleast Indianerna is performing according to their signings, they took ther 5th win out of 6 possible so its looking good for them.
