montie
Hell of a good win there for Dudley, fair play,i thought the colts would take some beating this year at home,Dudley seem to take to the track better than the colts looking at the fallers Sounds like some good entertainment off the track aswell, you cant beat it!!!! greyhoundp
Oh yes there was as I was directly stood right behind, Dudley fan wearing navy blue tracksuit top with stripes down the sleeves. All night been turning round mouthing off then after the heat 15 crash few things were said and he swung a punch wouldn't make a good boxer as missed. [/quot Dont know what happened i wasnt there <working > Heathens fans over the years have a reputation for being very vocal, absolutely no harm in that whatsoever, however there is No room in OUR sport for Physical violence whatsoever. Well done to the Heathens good all round performance, special word for Rich Franklin, bad luck Colts who seemed to have ALL the bad luck going. heathen79
Great night enjoyed by the Heathens fans and a great travelling support. Any incident like that one above is disappointing and let's down the majority of fans. Came down to six of one and half a dozen of the other in my opinion. Belle Vue fans understandably very disgruntled at their team's total failure last night. Lots went wrong for them and by the end, some frustrations boiled over. Biggest shame was that more home fans didnt turn up to see the Young Colts. Seemed to be more Heathens fans than home supporters altogether. Can't see the Colts venture being financially viable if only that number regularly turn up, which would be a real shame indeed. As for the match, a resounding victory for the Heathens - as good as I've seen the young team deliver. What great spirit and determination they have. Everyone on form, even if some riders were (needlessly) disappointed with their scores. Rich Franklin particularly improved and Tom Perry getting back to his dazzling best of last season. Track was poor, as the start of this thread suggested it might be. But for some reason, the Belle Vue boys couldn't cope with it and the Heathens riders gave them a hard lesson in how to ride their own circuit. So, who else is in the KOC Semi-Finals with us? Nothing wrong with the track, for once it was grippy with quite a bit of dirt on it rather the usual dry & slick it has been recently. When it is grippy like that takes some skill to ride, some Elite League riders have struggled in past, for some reason though like you said it was the Colts who struggled rather then the Heathens. Wish the track was like that for Aces meetings, Bomber Harris would have loved it and would be great racing.
rami
So, who else is in the KOC Semi-Finals with us? Buxton go to Stoke on Saturday with a 1 point lead so would expect Stoke to progress from there. Isle of Wight are already through and the other tie is Hackney v Mildenhall so i would expect a final 4 of - IOW, Stoke, Mildenhall and the Mighty Heathens

bruno
only my 2nd time there but thought the track was much better than last time, the place seems to have been tydied up a bit as well.poor showing on the food front tho, surely if you run an event the catering should be open.they lost out on a bit of money.good job we didnt risk it and went to the kfc also, why the 8 oclock start? well done to the lads especially rich and tom but solid back up all round, also hope byrons ok,looked a nasty one

I'm not complaining about the track as we won but just listenened to Jason Garrity's interview with local radio station and he thinks it aint too good, patchy, slick in places and grippy in others. He did mention the stock car meeting on monday!! The way GRA reduced the rent is that most of the bars and food outlets are not open to save on staff wages, there is just the one bar open outside. Obviously when we get our new stadium this won't be a problem. All meetings on Wednesday's Aces or Colts start at 8.00 because greyhounds run from 2.30-6.30. This is also massive problem preparing the track as no work allowed on track during those 4 hours greyhounds running.

Riders I spoke to seemed to concur with this view as well. Pre-match, Garrity was picking up huge mounds of dirt from the top surface in front of the starting gate and hurling it out of the way! All meetings on Wednesday's Aces or Colts start at 8.00 because greyhounds run from 2.30-6.30. This is also massive problem preparing the track as no work allowed on track during those 4 hours greyhounds running. This would help to explain it, then! 21st century heathen
What a week to be a Heathens fan. I can't comment on specifics because I wasn't there but just wanted to say a huge well done to the lads if any of them are reading. A special mention this time to Franklin and Perry for leading the way ahead of the heat leaders and Morris, who has so often ridden as well as a heat leader this season. Also a big pat on the back for Stoneman. If we can get him regularly picking up a few points as well we are going to start looking a formidable team. It must have been a hugely frustrating night to be a BV fan, we've all been there at one time or another. I'm sure everyone connected with the club will be telling the boys to just write it off as a one-off nightmare. I'm equally sure that BV will bounce back and still be a threat this season. I still like the look of Stoke over and above both clubs though. Just a feeling I have that they're going to be a very strong team by the end of the year. I tell you what mate, that was us approaching our best - and there isn't a team that could live with us firing on all seven cylinder, like at Belle Vue on Wednesday. Armo scored ok, but wasn't even at his very best; Rich certainly was - his best performance of the season and both from the gate and from the back; Tom was looking like he did last season - best of the season too; Ash scored paid 9 (I think) and was "disappointed" with his score - he actually did really well but has set such a high standard in some other recent matches; Kyle took a race or two then looked like a Number 1; Darryl was great and deserved way more than his score - Tuesday night showed what he can do; Danny will have gained confidence from his score and has the style right. It all came together, but of course it needs to do just that on Cup Final day or Play-Off Final day to count for anything!

It all came together, but of course it needs to do just that on Cup Final day or Play-Off Final day to count for anything! I was mightily impressed with Richards score, i have been one of the first to criticise him, probably because he has not shown the progress others, notably Lee and Tom last season, and Ash so far this season, our Top Six have all now shown they are capable of notching double figure scores, and Young Danny only has to score his average, which he needs to believe he is capable of doing reguarly and we will have one heck of a season to look forward to. However we must acknowledge The Colts loss of Kyle Howarth was a insurmountable hurdle for the Colts to overcome, as i read somewhere RR only scored 2 points, its on the night that counts and even with Kyle i think we would still have won on the night, though the scores would obviously have been much closer. 21st you say you wernt there, 79 has already commented on Richard at BV, well i will comment on Darryl at Monmore The one heat he won in fastest of the night, i cant remember who he was in with but first lap i think we all thought Darryl would do well to hold on, but each lap he pulled further and further away to record fastest of the night, in his other win in with Ash we thought Ash would cover him, but again lap after lap he pulled away, until Ash had E/F on bends 3/4 last lap, and boy i can assure you had he not scored those points NO way would we have won on Tuesday, he is one heck of a prospect, nothing fussy, nice smooth style, seems to have an old head on young shoulders, already this season he has shown good progress as you are aware, pity you missed out on Tuesday you will have to ask him for a replay against The IOW. I was at the home meeting on Tue but not at BV on Wed.
