brandonbee48
Thanks for the info everyone on here. Thoroughly enjoying watching the swedish stuff on premier sport. Was just wondering if anyone could give me a quick overview of the differing rules from the uk. I.e when tactical subs are allowed, if the teams are built on averages, minimum number of rides etc Thanks in advance will just allow me to follow the matches a bit more tactically. This post from our Swedish friend Ghostwalker earlier in the season should answer most of your questions. Posters in the International section are nice people Regards. theblueboy
Can somebody clarify an issue for me. It is betting related, however, not everyone reads that thread and I am looking for some information regarding a meeting last night. T H Jonasson had, per information on this thread, 4 rides and scored 2 points. Although it would appear only 3 taken and he was taken out of his other ride. Is that correct? Did Jonasson have a further ride in 14 or likely to have ridden in Heat 15? Or is 4 the maximimum amount of rides to be taken as per EL. With heat 15 nominated? I assume KK would have 1 further ride in Heat 14? Any confirmation would be much appreciated.

In the Vargarna vs Elit Vetlanda meeting, Thomas H Jonasson was replaced in his fourth, by Damian Balinski. Scheduled to ride in heat 14 is home team #1 (Adrian Miedzinski) and #5 (Kryzsztof Kasprzak) and away team #3 (Jaroslaw Hampel) and #5 (Jason Crump). All riders have four scheduled rides, with heat 15 being a nominated heat.
June01
Any news on Balinski please? Edit: is it a broken arm? I see he's had an operation already. Edited June 1, 2011 by June01
Anders
where did you see that, and is he OK http://www.nt.se/24nt Then click on "Hål i banan orsakade olycka" or "Vetlandas Balinski i otäck vurpa...". Balinski broke his left arm just below the elbow, and had surgery at the hospital in Norrköping today.

Balinski broke his left arm just below the elbow, and had surgery at the hospital in Norrköping today. the hole in the track was dangerous so no wonder the meeting was called off. 3 points turned into a ride in the ambulance, unfair on him. the guy in second was lucky not to get his head taken off by Balisnkis bike. hope Balinski back soon. Ghostwalker
Thanks Alan and Originally Ghostwalker for the info. Do you know any of the in meeting rules re tactical substitutes or minimum rides per meeting etc thanks again If i am correct the only riders that have a certain minimum number of heats is the Swedish U21 riders or, in case there are more then one SweU21 rider in the lineup, the Swedish u21 rider with the lowest floating average. They have a minimum of three rides. Tactical substitutes can be used when a team is 6points ore more behind and is allowed in heats 6-10 &12-14. There is no limits for minimum heats for a rider for him/her to be able to be replaced with a ts,
June01
Vargarna-Elit Vetlanda aborted after 13 heats due to dangerous track (according to ref) Vargarna won with 40-38, Apparently the ref made a mistake since the heat was stopped due to a whole in the track and it seems that the rules say that in this situation Vetlanda should have been awarded a 5-1 due that the heat was frozen, When a heat is frozen the standings in the heat should be as they were before the heat was stopped and it is said that Vetlanda had a 5-1 then so they shoukd have won the heat with 5.1 which would have meant that they would have won the meeting, please note i am not sure of that all of the above is 100% correct. I would imagine that rule would only come into force if the referee puts on the red lights in the middle of the race. In this case Balinski was excluded as the cause of the stoppage and the race awarded, so the heat was effectively over (or closed). I'd guess because he made his decision to abandon after the end of heat 13, and before the start of heat 14, the rule doesn't apply.
WembleyLion
My first visit to the Norrkoping track last night - a very enjoyable evening apart from Damian Balinski's crash. Vetlanda may have gone on to win the meeting but for that piece of bad luck! Eskilstuna tonight (Tigrarna v Solkatterna) for a big away win and then Nykoping tomorrow for Griparna v Gnistorna and back home on Friday. To anyone who likes Speedway and a bit a travel I would thoroughly recommend a trip or two to Sweden. Ghostwalker
Balinski is expected to have to have his arm in a cast for about 3 weeks and then some 11 weeks is needed for rehabilitation.
JCookie
Just got round to watching Vastervik vs Lejonen and was pretty surprised with the landslide win. Nice track though and some very decent racing.
