brandonbee48
I agree.I think i would get neck or back ache as well. But i just want to sit there and drink a beer and see a few heats Don't think i could see a whole meeting from there Perhaps Ghostwalker can enlighten us, but i'm not sure if you can buy beer in the stadium. Trying to encourage the family attendance? ( put the cheers on for fun! )
manchesterpaul
Excellent race as Harris didn't make the gate but still won and Holder improved.

Trying to encourage the family attendance? ( put the cheers on for fun! ) Oh!!! So used to seeing all the beer being consumed in Germany + Denmark i thought Sweden would be the same. Some meetings i think the people are there as much for the beer as the speedway. In fact at Teterow for the grasstrack/speedway weekend,i think the racing comes a poor second to alcohol Good race from Nicolai Blooming pc takes forever to reply when i watch a stream Edited May 31, 2011 by iris123

Trying to encourage the family attendance? ( put the cheers on for fun! ) No normally not but I think Målilla is the only track that is allowed to sell beer. Howver if tracks/sushi bars/restaurants and etc can provide sufficient cooking facilities they may apply and be granted permission to serve alcohol. manchesterpaul
Bit of a strange thread so far? Since the meeting started; Comments on the match 6 (5 by me and 1 other) Comments on beer and seating 10 (by others) Lol! aww nobody watching the racing? Update OK, Sky meeting starting now so need to concentrate on watching the two meetings, logging out from here. Hope the swedish racing continues to be as good as a couple of the last few heats. Enjoy all and have a good night. Edited May 31, 2011 by manchesterpaul
Anders
Whilst on the subject of knowledge of the local scene, please Anders (or any of our 'international correspondents') can you give us a little info on the type of track and potential quality of racing we are likely to get from Västervik. Västervik is roughly 290 meters (I can't find the actual length where I am at the moment). It's a wide track, good for racing. Usually a bit of dirt, sandy material, which is hard to pass through when trying to overtake. Nevertheless, it's a fairly good racing track. Perhaps Ghostwalker can enlighten us, but i'm not sure if you can buy beer in the stadium. Trying to encourage the family attendance? ( put the cheers on for fun! ) Beer, wine and/or alcohol is AFAIK only available when buying a VIP ticket, at least it's that way in Vetlanda and Målilla, where I have personally been in the VIP areas. The rules regarding permits for alcohol is hard to get, so it's stipulated only to be available for "a closed group of people". I really don't know how to explain it specific terms... Ghostwalker
a very strong effort by Valsarna to manage atleast a tie againts Dackarna., 40-44 with one heat to go.
Ghostwalker
Hampel is brought to Hospital after a fall in which he was ran over by PK. Also in the meeting between Dackarna and Valsarna, Grigorij Laguta won heat 15 and secured Valsarnas victory. Well done!! *edit* Its Balinski who is off to hospital not Hampel. Ghostwalker
Vargarna-Elit Vetlanda aborted after 13 heats due to dangerous track (according to ref) Vargarna won with 40-38, Apparently the ref made a mistake since the heat was stopped due to a whole in the track and it seems that the rules say that in this situation Vetlanda should have been awarded a 5-1 due that the heat was frozen, When a heat is frozen the standings in the heat should be as they were before the heat was stopped and it is said that Vetlanda had a 5-1 then so they shoukd have won the heat with 5.1 which would have meant that they would have won the meeting, please note i am not sure of that all of the above is 100% correct. manchesterpaul
Exactly. These threads are about more than just the racing anyway imo. Thanks again for the info.It all helps to broaden our knowledge of Swedish speedway I do actually agree with you and i was quite fascinated myself by the set up at these tracks with the tables. Also, the regulations governing alcohol consumption being permitted or not is interesting. I was just making an appeal for some more comments on the racing itself in addition. I managed to make a few observations once the racing improved. Anyway, overall whilst not enough passing as one would like in the early stages, and not a competitive match score wise, it was once more a very enjoyable way to spend an early Tuesday evening. Thanks to all who provide info too. I cetsinly appreciated the specific track description.

gmuncie
Thanks for the info everyone on here. Thoroughly enjoying watching the swedish stuff on premier sport. Was just wondering if anyone could give me a quick overview of the differing rules from the uk. I.e when tactical subs are allowed, if the teams are built on averages, minimum number of rides etc Thanks in advance will just allow me to follow the matches a bit more tactically.
