John Resch

Recommended Posts

Firstly best wishes to John Resch and his family, and I hope you have a full recovery. I've never known anything like it before to lose 3 reserves to injury in 7 meetings :( . It appears he has a double leg break & fractured pelvis and underwent surgery to plate the bone today. Does anyone know how that went?

Down now to replacements. We have 7.88 for both reserves. Dan Blake looked pretty handy last year before his injury, and I think I read around November time that he wouldn't be fit for the start of the season but would be for soon after. Does anyone know if that's the case? Does he want to/able to come back now?

Any thoughts on anyone else...

My god your team are having some wretched luck and I feel very sorry for you all and the poor riders. Best of luck to them and I hope you get suitable replacements :)

First of all it was great to catch up with all our friends, riders, management from the IOW at Mildenhall on Sunday, but what a horrible meeting, Johns crash was simply horrific and once that happened I had no real interest in the rest of procedings.

No sure if we will produce the dvd or not, will see how the lad is before we make a decision.

I can quite understand why the Islanders were not up to the challenge after this.

So John, all of us at T2TV and I am sure the whole world of speedway wish you a quick and full recovery.

Yet another serious injury at Mildenhall. When will someone question the safety of this circuit? Perhaps it is time for the Health and Safety Executive to be involved.

Could not agree more with that statement. Speedway is a dangerous enough sport, but with a armcove barrier it's a hell of a dangerous track, when will the authorities do something about it? When it' to late I guess.....

all the best to John for a speedy recovery Tina (Mildenhall Startline Flag Marshall)

I felt sorry for the Islanders not good to lose any riders but your reserve so early in the meeting. I know Naill tried hard but 7 rides is a lot to ask. I hope you will be able to get a full strenth team soon

I think Jordan Tyrer was looking for a team spot earlier this year.

That is correct. Sums up this country due to the fact nobody would take him on when he's a good steady rider

Get a life the pair of you, and show a bit of respect when a young lad is still in his hospital bed.

I would hazard a guess that neither of you were there so have not the slightest idea what you are talking about, an accident in that spot on track and that speed would have had a similar result at most tracks - ala Darren Mallet at Kings Lynn a couple of months back- shall we close the Norfolk Arena down as well?

It's a dangerous sport, if you don't like it don't go - if you look at the injuries that occur around the sport I bet Mildenhall's record is no worse than most.

Do the riders like it? probably has some of the best closest racing in the U.K. which would not be the case if it was a track to be scared of.

There is no need for such a condescending reply. I have the upmost respect for all speedway riders. There is no other track in the Country with just an armco fence.

Regrettably this country now breeds some people who's main pleasure in life is to criticise and whinge.

To make such a statement you must have been to all other tracks in the country - shame you must have missed Mildenhall or you would have seen that it has a wooden fence around the track.

Putting your remarks on a thread that is for an update on an injured rider is hardly appropriate.

The post is about new IOW reserves following Johns injuries. I have been to Mildenhall many times. The wooden fence does nothing.

1) Not just an Armco fence then is it?

2) If it is approved by the governing bodies then obviously it does something or the track would not be allowed to run.

No matter what track this happened on it would still have resulted in a serious injury due to a) The position on the track and B) The high speed of the crash, John did well to get off the back just before he hit.

Give Niall Strudwick a go, the lad is commited, he is a steady rider too who will turn up at meetings and his scores will improve week on week he also leaves points for a senior reserve to be drafted in too. Hope John Resch makes a full and speedy recovery.
