I know its a week away but at present Tyson Burmeister is still home in the USA and has extended his return date. This follows the sudden death of his father a couple of weeks ago. But if he's riding I may see if I can get the day off - I miss my annual visit to Ipswich.

Also Jason Doyle is on the list - I guess he isn't expecting to be included in the Test series which is also on that night!unsure.gif

Well the test match has been cancelled, so I suppose Doyley was in possession of that fact before he agreed Sandie  , not sure about Tyson, I know he was asked as he was a rider that CL tried to sign in the close season for the Witches

Should be a great meeting . I wonder what the gate will be like as so many people say they do not like individual meetings. . I think it will pull in a better crowd than an ordinary league meeting.

Was that said with tongue in cheek

6 past or present "Stars" plus 2 whose fathers are ex stars also so how many more do you want?

Tell me SRTB who out of this super "star" line-up have won a meaningful meeting in their careers at any level, let alone at "star" level. I state my case, "star" meeting it is not. Lets see how many regular fans go tonight, that will show the "star" rating  Dont get me wrong Im not knocking the super exciting premier league but just making a truthful observation

SHould be interesting to see how some of our riders go on their own. Will doolan get heat one. Don't think He has won heat one for a while. It's hard to pick the winner though

He won Heat 1 against Plymouth (Cameron Woodward). Apparently last week in Heat 1 he got hit in the face with a stone off the track! He thinks the rain must have brought some bits & pieces to the surface.

Not sure what the official draw is. In the old days, John Berry used to seed it so that Louis, Olsen, Crump were in the 20th heat.

It's an interesting line-up, with a chance for some of the lower order riders to grab a few scalps without the pressure of team racing.

It seems the racing at Compost Corner last night was good quality, so let's hope this lot can do the same for us tonight.

The stars SRTB referred to are of the Compost Corner type.

We haven't had many star riders at Foxhall for years - and as a team, the current Sackers Witches knock spots of the misfits who have disgraced the Witch (IMHO only a few exceptions).

The context of the Star of Anglia has simply changed to a PL version ...

The only way to see an individual with a similar level of quality as the original SoA is to go to a GP - I can't think of any of the old classic individual meetings that remain with full high-quality line-ups, eg. Laurels, Brandonapolis, Blue Riband, Pride of The East ...

If they provide as much entertainment as a similar line up provided last night at Lynn then everyone will go home with a smile on their face and isn't that what it's about after all!!

They're all stars in a speedways fans' eyes :approve:

I must admit I never went to this meeting as I thought the "star" field all people got so excited about was not worth my hard earned money to watch. And after reading the heat details I can see I was right but having said that Joe Jacobs for Doyle was a master stroke  3 riders in the final races just added to the excitement I guess and also guess what  Hart did not score a point but I bet he still was his usual arrogant poser self doing wheelies  Never mind Cameron Heeps has arrived now its only a matter of time
