Russian League

Recommended Posts

You have to give them full marks for trying. The crowd kinda speaks for itself. Meanwhile, back at (take your Elite pick!)...

Wasn't being critical but it is without doubt weird.

Like an episode of the Magic Roundabout on crack.

What a fantastic occasion it is with a huge crowd and reserves like Crump and Sullivan.

The racing is not great but being there must be awesome which is not something you can say about the Elite league which is a turgid two hours interspersed with one or two fantastic speedway races.

I shudder to think what will be next on the performance area.

Hope we get some more of this over the next few months as it is one hell of an entertaining couple of hours with some speedway in between.

Thank you. My ol' memory goes! ;) If it's on, anyone who hasn't seen it should set some time aside. You will NEVER see anything like it. Totally unique and charming.

If they ever sort out their problems and get a GP then it will be one amazing occasion.

They will probably re enact the siege of Leningrad during the interval or Napoleons retreat from Moscow.

Beats the hell out of our sad two hours.

Beautiful women dressed as toy soldiers, ninjas, a bloke in a bear suit, fireworks, a huge crowd and the rider leading the SGP as a reserve.

Absolutely incredible.

Great to see Artem Laguta as I like that guy.

Would have been interesting to see him match up with Crump at the end as jason had it figured out. I would have still bet on Laguta but it would have been nice to see.

How many tracks are operating outside of the kleague for some speedway?I think there is a track in Kamensk?Fayzulin comes from Bashkortostan,so i guess a track there in Ufa maybe?

So basically you are trying to say that there's only 6 tracks in the ever so wonderful Russia that will save the sport of speedway?

Seems like the blueprint for success.Say in the distance from Glasgow to Moscow if you only have 5 tracks and race once in a blue moon you can get good crowds and even Jason Crump will come to ride  Oh well 16,000 plus turned up in Herxheim thursday for Longtrack.Imagine how many would have turned up if it was 3 quid to get in :P

I remember a German league meeting in Wolfslake when the tickets were 12 instead of 11 and people were turning back at the turnstiles because it was unheard of and too expensive. Peter Karlsson and Billy Hamill were there, it was a good meeting. Was not gonna miss that one after walking 90 minutes to get to the stadium.

I was at Herxheim for the SWC quali. I thought they cant make better stadiums for longtrack!
