Hi all,

Im less than ten minutes from the track, and there has been no rain this morning bar a couple of spots about 10.15.

It is rather chilly though so I'd suggest wrapping up!

Thanks Phil. Leaving in about 5 mins from a very grey windy and cold part of S Lincs.

Probably not the best meeting Fen Tigers' fans will see this season but a thoroughly deserved victory for their team. Mainly from the gate apart from a couple of passes by Birks and a great effort by Hargreaves in heat 13 and unfortunately the Young Stars were dreadful in this department, time and time again they were lengths down going into the first turn. Very impressed with Lewis Blackbird, he looks the real deal.

Quite a lot of dirt down and it was well watered. The track has settled down well after several falls in the first five races, everybody fit and well though.

Reading the programme notes today Baggy it does seem the promotion want some dirt on the track, and although there may have been a bit too much in the first 4 heats once the track settled it rode well I thought.

Mildenhall simply overpowered Kings Lynn in the second half of the meeting with Lewis Blackbird's paid 16 from reserve the highlight, along with Jack Hargreaves double pass in Heat 13 :approve:

Mildenhall's gating was much the sharper and Birks apart Kings Lynn didn't offer too much, Knight in particular had a quiet day after some big recent scores.

Another good crowd today even with the slightly inclement weather around, looked about the 800 mark again! Mildenhall seem to have a real gem in Lewis Blackbird who has improved markedly since his previous dabble with the sport, he can certainly gate and attacks the track every time he goes out :approve:

Good too to see Joe Jacobs looking back to his best, there were signs on Monday at Belle Vue that he was on the way back!

If thats the case they need to be applauded, too many tracks are set up way to slick and this causes gate and go racing.

Great little stadium there and really enjoyed our visits last season and pleased to see them back and doing well.

The trouble these days is how often will riders come up against a "deep" track, especially in GB. Gone are the days of the Saddlebow Road Huggy specials!! Having said that I guess if the riders can cope with a track like that was at the beginning of the meeting today they ought to be able to cope with anything .......

Another good afternoon spent at West Row, Good to see Daniel Halsey recover to get two wins after his first two rides had him on his backside, thought Joe Jacobs looked much more his old self as well,Nick Laurence gave it a good go in his 3rd ride up against much more experienced riders. Praise should be given to the 3 other riders who managed to avoid Jack Hargreaves and his bike after his fall whilst leading in heat 4, that could have been very nasty.

The crowd looked another good one, with Lynn bringing quite a few supporters, the whole package seems much more organised this year with the meeting going through in about 90 mins including a reasonable interval, and with regular interviews with riders and management from Kevin Long, it all moves along very smoothly.

This was my first visit to West Row for some considerable time, and like others have said, I was very impressed with the overall presentation.

90-minutes is plently long enough for a meeting to go on, including interval in this case, and I'm sure that's what the majority of the paying public want. I was at Sheffield on Thursday, and they ran through at a similar pace, as Buxton always do.

Well done to all concerned at the Suffolk venue. Good Track Shop too
