No it's not. In his position as a journalist and managing editor of the Speedway Star he should've remained impartial in the winter's dispute. He demonstrated a clear pro-Coventry bias.

AS I have said before you rarely let the facts determine your judgement ... however, really don't think those who read and contribute to this forum need us to bicker in public but would be quite happy to do so face-to-face at any time. Of course, you would have to relinquish your cloak of anonymity...

yes it really is moronic

not only is all of that in your opinion (and you have been clearly anti coventry biased) and in no way should result in what amounts to bullying and trolling........ but Philip is a forum member just like you or me and has forum rights just like you or me

Do you really need to poke, pull, stalk, bully, troll, and repeat yourself (ad nauseum)?

I'm hardly that anonymous. Check your back issues of the Speedway Star and you ought to be able to find one or two of my letters, especially concerning the venue of the 2009 SWC final and race-off.

BETTER things to do, especially as I am not even in the UK at present, but you could always send me a PM with your name and email address and we could abuse each other at will without involving anyone else.

Believe the Ullevi Stadium is only available for Speedway early in the season, but agree it is far to early, they have only just got rid of the snow!

its that Ullevi sometimes have a bunch of concerts/events during the summer but not every year. This year only the first weekend in July have concerts (Iron Maiden+Metallica/the big four).

During mid July every year, Gothia Cup occupies the arena for two weekends and the week inbetween.

How did he manage to support Coventry without supporting Peterborough?

  • 4 weeks later...

Macca, if you've lived 3 years in Sweden you should know that there are no such things as sun-safe weeks. Especially not in Gbg where July & August

on an average gets more rain compared to May. As i said before Gothenburg is situated in one of the rainiest regions in Sweden.

Just take a look for yourself:

http://sv.wikipedia....#Nederb.C3.B6rd

http://en.wikipedia....theborg#Climate

and you will see that your experience is not as accurate as you seems to believe.

Your info comes from Wikipedia? Enough said.

All I know was that when I lived and worked there for 3yrs it was alot drier in September than May. 1980 & 84 Individual World Finals were pretty dry from what I remember too.

since you refuse to accept that you are wrong i have news articles for you:

http://www.svd.se/ny...den_1440389.svd

especially pay attention to this quote:

– Juli är den regnigaste månaden på året. Det har att göra med den vädertyp vi ofta har på sommaren

med mycket skurar och åskväder, säger Therese Fougman, meteorolog på SMHI.

July is the rainiest month of the year. It has to do with the type of weather we have at that time of the year, with lots of showers and thunderstorms,

says Therese Fougman, meteorologist at SMHI (SMHI= Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute to learn ore about hem see: http://www.smhi.se/en/about-smhi)

here is another article taken direct from SMHI's website: http://www.smhi.se/k...nth=5&year=2011

Junue is the brighest of the three summer months and normally is also a bit dryer and less cloudy. July is usually the warmest month but also the rainiest month,

August on the other hand is the driest and now the watertemperature is normnally as its warmest, alough the days are getting shorter.

some statistics for Gothenburg (see the link for statistics for other cities):

1= month, 2= average day temp, 3= average of nights lowest temp, 4= average rain 5= sunhours.

  1. June
  2. 20
  3. 11,3
  4. 59 mm
  5. 266

  1. July
  2. 21,1
  3. 13,1
  4. 68 mm
  5. 243

  1. August
  2. 20,6
  3. 12,3
  4. 75 mm
  5. 220

So consider yourself proven wrong.
