tigerowl
I'm not sure if any of the above clubs actually had nicknames. The nickname idea seemed to come in a couple of years later with Wimbledon, Wembley, Belle Vue etc. leading the way. I've tried to get back on your web site and it asks me for a password. Any ideas? jackofdiamonds
According to the British Book of Speedway Champions, league winners were Leeds Lions, only other nickname for 1929 is Leicester Stadium Tigers. By 1930 Sheffield had become Tigers and Belle Vue Aces.
