the pubs are ok for the drinkers, not great for families with young kids or those who dont drink, yes the main entertaiment is the racing but sadly you can watch the racing on sky, cardiff needs that something else to get people off there sofas and buy a ticket.

I hav'nt bought tickets yet as i am undecided about going or watching it on sky, entertainment could swing it, i enjoyed tony hadley, bonnie tyler, stunt bikes but also the mini speedway riders. Last year was shocking.

this is not a mickey take, honest, but are there people who dont drink.how do you get thru life :drink: how can you have kids and not drink.i thought it was part of the deal

suzi quattro has been the best entertainment yet singing wise and the daredevil motorbikes a couple of years ago were pretty good as well

Just hope the 'resident' welsh bloke who sings Delilah (for reason unknown to me) isn't on AGAIN. He also gets wheeled out for the interval - completely overrated! The event needs to do the presentation different this year - needs freshening up.

Some interesting photos I came acroos by accident on the net of the Cardiff track Preparation in its' early stages...

Millennium Stadium Speedway Track Prep

One year I stayed in the stadium after the GP all night at a party and occasionally looked in as they dismantled the track and shipped the shale out on a continuous flow of trucks throughout the night. By 8am you would never have guessed a speedway meeting had taken place just 12 hours before. It's quite a meticulously timed operation.

The organisers must think that a song about domestic violence and knife crime is fitting for a family audience.... :)

Simple, decent parents dont spend hours in pubs drinking, they spend hours of fun times with kids because before you know it they are old enough to go into pubs themselves and those magic years of your kids are gone.

i liked the daredevil bikes, suzi was good as was tony hadley otherwise nothing much to shout about really

To be fair they are under no obligation to provide pre meeting entertainment. So anything should be seen as a bonus IMO.

you are right matey, the problem is what is put on is normally not good. i spoke to them recently about this and they know its not good. trouble is top acts want a lot of cash and i couldnt believe all the extras they wanted, do they put the ticket cost up a few pounds to pay for it but will the fans then moan as dear to get in. i dont mind 5 quid extra for summit really good but most will say not paying that :D

think its a no win situation.
