Polish Extraleague Rnd 3 Easter Monday 25th April

Recommended Posts

At the huge risk of a "whoosh" response, it means "no sportsman".

Not knowing a word of Polish (shame on me!) i thought it was probably "To be announced", but i liked the sound of it!

Regards, and look forward to Monday. Alan.

Brak Zawodnika - shown as number 8 and 16. Cost-cutting? Share the spare? All the best. Alan

Brak Zawodnika = No rider.

In test matches you can use 8 riders and there used to be 8 riders in a league match line-up a few years ago. So SportoweFakty.pl just didn't change their live updates page layout.

Torun v Wroclaw teams and updates here(6pm uk time start)http://live.sportowefakty.pl/launch_speedway_2602.html

If Maciej Janowski doesn`t win heat 1 there should be a stewards enquiry :approve:

Well done- but if he had come up against my favourite number 8, Brak Zawodnika, it might have been a different outcome.

Whats happened to Dennis Andersson-1 ride then replaced.

Only the juniors have mandatory rides, so my guess is that he was replaced by better riders after his first heat failure. Janowski twice (although he touched the tapes second time around) and Bjerre were better options. It's a harsh world in the Ekstraliga.

And it ended 51-39 in favour of the homesters, which isn't a terrible result for the team from Lower Silesia, although they were heavily reliant on Bjerre and Janowski for points.

Are you sure? It looks to me like he was involved in a fall with Miedzinski, who was excluded as the cause, and was unable to take his place in the re-run of heat 9.

Edit: I think we're talking about different heats. Janowski actually replaced Andersson three times, counting his tapes exclusion.

Quite right, I wasn't paying attention.

Ladyluck, I actually know all Rempala family in person and have seen them numerous times in action. They are all kind of weird except for Tomasz Rempala who is a really nice, talkative guy. I guess it is in the family. :D And they all have weird riding style...

Every family has a black sheep.

Anyway, the hosts only had one rider in the Golden Helmet final, but that rider was Adrian Miedzinski and he won the meeting after a race-off with Falubaz's Piotr Protasiewicz:

His Holiness left it to his promising apprentice Grzegorz Walasek to provide the weirdness, who, after a couple of lasts, stormed to eight points from his last three rides, including a win in Ht 18 against Miedzinski, Protasiewicz and Maciej Janowski. That's weird enough for me.

Poland's first world champion Jerzy Szczakiel has made his predictions for today's Ekstraliga meetings. In the non-televised meetings, he sees a happy Easter for the people of the city of Jasna Gora as the Lions defeat Tarnow (53-37), while he sees Falubaz coming away from Lower Silesia with a victory over Sparta (42-48). As for the televised meetings, well, he sees Jason Crump leading the Cranes to victory over the Angels of Torun (50-40), but if it goes the way he predicts in Gorzow we should be in for a real treat, as Szczakiel sees a draw between Stal and reigning champions Leszno.
