King's Lynn V Mildenhall (nl)

Recommended Posts

With Wednesday forecast to be one of the warmest days of the year so far, the stage is set for what should be a cracking evening of racing at the Norfolk Arena.

Following the highly successful re-opening of Mildenhall on Sunday afternoon, raced in front of possibly the largest crowd ever seen at a third tier meeting, the ingredients are all there for this to be a local derby of the highest order.

Whether a crowd of that level can be seen again this week remains to be seen, but with the talent on view, there certainly deserves to be.

This will be the one and only time that these two great rivals meet on track in Norfolk this campaign, so which ever team you support, please come along and give your club the suuport they deserve.

Although it's nothing to do with this meeting, I would just like to inform the 'Young Stars' fans that are thinking about going to Scunthorpe on Easter Monday for our National League fixture, that the meeting will go ahead immediately after the Scorpions have finished their Premier League match against Somerset at around 7pm. As an additional bonus, our own Darren Mallett has been chosen to challenge Ashley Birks for the Bronze Helmet.

After yesterday Mike, I'm sure there will be many Mildenhall supporters making the trip to the Norfolk Arena for what looks like being a cracking meeting. We are already looking forward to it!

Hard to predict the outcome, especially if Jake Knight is on form again, but hopefully we can get a point ..... at least

Any news on Adam anyone please?

Unfortunately the Young Stars will be operating Rider Replacement for Adam Lowe who looks to be out of action for the rest of the season after breaking two vertebras in a crash last week.

Oh no does that mean that a certain 'HalifaxTiger' is going to get the shorts out again :nono:

Cant stand that 2 weeks running, its enough to put you off going to speedway full stop.

Shut up, quisling.

Once a season seeing your ugly mug and 'Nikko Racing' everywhere is more than enough for anyone.

I am not going to this one (although I do plan to see over half of the Fen Tigers away matches, two thirds if you include NL events). Last week I got home at 1.45am :o and only came because Barrie, Oliver & Adam were all riding (I'll be at Rye House in a fortnight or so for the same reason so stay clear, you git).

Looking forward to this one. Should be a belter.

Think the Young Stars will need Jake on his Hackney form for this one and hopefully Olly and Lewis will get amongst the points as well.

I can see another last heat decider and a certain James Brundle coming back to haunt the Stars :o

Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the updates site? If so, could you please either leave a message here or send me an email or pm.

Thanks

As the forecasters promised, it's a beautiful warm day here in West Norfolk, in fact it's just perfect for a night at the speedway.

Hopefully there will be the expected convoy of coaches from Mildenhall heading along the A10, so if you're coming Parsloes, leave yourself plenty of time.

As for you Bryn, you don't need your thick sweater this evening, that lovely striped tank-top that your Auntie Mable knitted you for your birthday will suffice.

So the ingredients are all there for a perfect occassion......GOOD WEATHER.......TWO ENTERTAINING TEAMS.......AND.......BRYN IN HIS TANK-TOP.

Sadly not... Am at sweaty gig in Shepherd's Bush instead tonight... Well you know what they say, there's nothing like a sweaty Bush...!

Alas won't be there Mr. Morosely as Goldberg is not travelling up to Nawfook tonight.

Sorry, early starts and my age means I can't manage night meetings !, but good luck to the tigers and hopefully an enjoyable meeting for everyone.

Go straight to work from the meetings then!
