CardinalSin
Well done Jerran Indeed an excellent performance from Jerran Hart considering he's been struggling for Ipswich these last few weeks. This should do his confidence the world of good. Huge shock to see Lasse struggle with only 5 points!
Bagpuss
Lasse has three or four years left in the competition, plenty of time.
CardinalSin
Lasse has three or four years left in the competition, plenty of time. He does Bagpuss you're right, but looking through that field, he should have comfortably qualified really and its a huge surprise that he didn't. Icicle
Especially as Lasse been scoring consistently better for Ipswich than Hart! Perhaps Hart prefers European tracks more than Brit??

spanner47
[Huge shock to see Lasse struggle with only 5 points! Herxheim is one of the smallest tracks on the continent, maybe thats why it suited some of the brits. It's a small track inside a huge one, you need binoculars to watch the racing from the stand. Needs to learn to ride all tracks though big and small but there's still plenty of time for that as he's very young.
BobC
Can't believe that there is no topic about this lol. ANYWAY today was the first qualifier in Herxheim (Germany). Results: 1. Josh Auty 14+3 (3,3,2,3,3) Deserved his win.Excellent from the back all day.Even elbowed Andersson out of the way in the run off. 2. Dennis Andersson 14+2 (3,3,3,3,2) Not troubled until his last 2 rides.Kyle led him for 3 laps in Ht16,before being elbowed off the line.Hard, but fair.Josh did him in Ht18 and the run if some style too! 3. Richard Sweetman 13 (3,1,3,3,3) Apart from his blip in Ht5,very fast and comfortable. 4. Justin Sedgmen 11 (3,2,1,2,3) Just got on with, tbh.Never in danger of going out.Loaned his back wheel to Kyle in the run off at the end. 5. Jerran Hart 10 (2,3,2,1,2) Very confident after practice.Showed in the meeting. 6. Nejc Maleič 9+3 (2,2,2,2,1) Got a little luck in Ht8.Wobbled alarmingly in front of Newman and Bjerre. While they had to avoid him,he changed course again, right into their path.Otherwise, rode well above expectations, according to my Slovenian friends. ---------------- 7. Kyle Newman 9+2 (2,1,1,2,3) Good effort.Led both Auty and Andersson in their races and made them work very hard for their points.Outgated on a super dry and dusty bowl in the run off.Crowd favourite on the day for his efforts. ---------------- 8. Joe Haines 8 (1,2,3,1,1) Unlucky in the end.Worked his socks off for little reward. 9. Kai Huckenbeck 7 (EX,2,3,0,2) 10. Andriej Kobrin 7 (2,0,EX,3,2) 11. Wladimir Tejgał 6 (1,3,1,0,1) 12. Lasse Bjerre 5 (0,0,2,2,1) Huge disappointment.Ef in Ht2 and didnt really threaten at all. 13. Michel Hofmann 3 (1,1,0,1,0) 14. Marco Gaschka 3 (1,A,1,1,0) 15. Matic Ivačič 1 (EX,1,0,0,0) 16. Patrik Nagy 0 (0,0,0,0,0) Father Robert (ex Glasgow)helping in pits, but was way below the standard here. An excellent meeting.Lots of top class action. As others have said, the speedway track is on the centre green of the Longtrack circuit.Spectators are a long way from the action on this fenceless 283 metre circuit.Small flags indicating the outer edge of the track, ala our grasstracks! From the pits,it was around 200 metres to the mechanics waiting area, then another 50 metres + to the track.I hope the club filmed this meeting as it was a great advert for the U21 series. Link to some of my photos of the day.Mainly of Kyle and facilities. http://sports.webshots.com/album/580069098zivVwz Edited April 19, 2011 by BobC

kiwi
I'm amazed an FIM event with no fence. There seems to be so many stipulations on what can be used at an FIM meeting also sizes and facilities. I would have thought it would be very strange to riders that have never ridden without a fence. Can you really say 283m is small? 220m like Dohren is small.260m is maybe small. But 280+ is an average track surely?
