tellboy Posted December 17, 2014 Report Share Posted December 17, 2014 I thought I knew how the averages worked but I am flummoxed by Holder and Iversens averages.I just thought I would look on the BSPA site because I thought Holder had a 9+ average,i was wrong.But I did see his average after he had finished his stint at Poole was 8.83 all the way through the different issues then on the final one his average dropped to 8.75,why? With Iversen's average he got injured in the early to mid September and his average come 23rd September was issued at 8.77 for October so all the required matches were taken into account.So to me he would have no more matches to add to that average.But come the final issue his average jumped to 9.03. As has been in the past, I would expect the first Issue to implement any average changes will be for May. (Apart from if there are any prior issued GSA's if Assessed/Converted average riders pass the 4H & 4A match criteria prior to the 21st April cut-off date.) And if My figures are right, that'll mean with bonus points Bomber will be EL number 1 Will also see Dakota Norths average jump to 7.5 - I wonder if Matt has a 7.5 rider just waiting to sign as a replacement? Worrying for Wolves as Freddie would be on a 5pt avg if needed guest and Kennett would become a heat leader for Lakeside. As of May 1st Issue, only 2014 and 2015 matches will count in the Rolling Averages (to a maximum of 20 matches). Therefore, riders who had 2013 matches in their current RA will have them discounted. This may mean that some riders will only have 2015 matches in their RA, and will therefore not have their current average updated until they have achieved the 4H & 4A benchmark. Elite League Riders concerned include Stuart Robson & K Gomolski. PL Riders include:- BERWICK: Edberg GLASGOW: Smith IPSWICH: Nielsen NEWCASTLE: Rosen, Henry PETERBOROUGH: Palm Toft PLYMOUTH: Fisher, Morris RYE HOUSE: Aspegren, Mellgren SCUNTHORPE: Davies SHEFFIELD: Compton This is not a definitive list, there may be others that I have missed. ATB Dave Although these is provision for a new average to be applied even if the 4 home 4 away is not reached. Perhaps needs to be applied where there may be a re-declaration. The new calculations have disappeared from the BSPA site - hope they come back soon. Wouldn't want it to seem like anything is being hidden to slide through any dodgy changes!! Together with the figures being hidden again and the new rules not even being put in the public domain its a poor show. Inconsistency and a lack of transparency yet again! And in a word, no! in a little more than a word, we were todl that it's last 20 meetings but only meetings from '14 and '15 count. But for some unknown reason, despite the fact he has no ridden 9 meetings this season, Freddie Lindgren doesn't have a 2015 average but seems to have some mix of his old and new average! I vaguely recall reading that it won't be done every month, but possibly every 2 weeks for all teams or for each specific team after every 4 matches they ride.
